I have thought if RD hits dirt he will get a pedestal...the question is if it will be a wall one or freestanding....I agree with others though some deer I've seen with them I just don't like at all.

I agree it has to be on certain deer some deer dont look good with certain mounts esp. a pedestal. I've done taxideremy work so been around alot of different ones and forms. But my personal favorites are the semi-sneak's i've seen many deer mounted on semi-sneaks and have yet to see a bad looking mount in that series. But i do like the pedestal more on a base than on the wall.

The right deer for the right mount.

I want to remember the deer and the hunt. If I watched him sneaking along, then that is how I want him mounted.
If he was alert looking around, a pedestal/wall would be my choice. So many good options!

I should be getting my Wyoming back in about a month. Ended up going with a wall pedestal 8500 series. Excited to see how it turns out

I love my wall pedestal. I used a Joe Coombs form and pivoting bracket. I did this because I don't have a ton if wallspace in the house where a mount coming out of the wall won't get bumped, so I wanted to put mine In a corner and it allowed me to.

I did my biggest one a full pedestal...

The base changes every so often from having pictures on it, sometimes fall decor, sometimes shed antlers, just whatever we feel like.

I wish I would've gotten my buck this year in a pedestal mount. Oh well I'm just gonna have to shoot one bigger next year for that:bow:

My two bucks from this year will both be wall pedestals... With this mount. Rector showed it to me, it functions just like a camera arm, so it pivots at the wall as well as at the mount so you can have it move and face it any way you want.

I'm not waiting, I may die before the next season or before I kill a buck big enough for that. :D

That's the exact mount that I have on the back of my buck. It allows more versatility for placement in the room. That's why I like pedestal mounts.
