I don't use them but my dad does and he loves them. Before he had them he could never hear anything coming... Now he hears it all.

I made one of my emplyees get his hearing checked and they suggested he get hearing aids. He said he was glad I made him do it. Now he can hea everything. Sorry I don't have any thing to add about the game ear.

If you think you need to get walker's game ear then you really should get your hearing checked. If you need hearing aids most health plans will pay, or at least supplement, the cost. I can still hear without my hearing aids and, at one time, considered walker's but then decided to get my hearing checked instead of depending on my self diagnoses. One of the best things I ever did. The hearing aids certainly helped with hunting but they help with regular life so much too.

Ditto this. Good one side, bad the other and thought I'd be OK hunting with the game ear. Wife had me go get checked, and just like I thought, good one side bad the other. They set me up and WOW, what a difference. Good luck on your decision.

Yeah, I'm going to agree with others and say you should speak with your physician. He'll either send your for, or conduct a hearing test. As others have said, most health plans will at least supplement, if not pay for entirely, hearing aids. If you're having an issue with hearing in the woods, most likely you're having and issue with hearing in all settings. Hearing aids may just brighten your life. You can probably just call your physician's office and let them know you want a hearing test. They will schedule it as such. Best of luck! Also, hearing aids are certainly going to be better than the game ear. Just food for thought.

I am only 34 years old and have a fair amount hearing loss for about 8 years now. I wear hearing aids and it impacts my life considerbly.

Get your hearing checked and get HA's if you need them. It will make your life and hunting much better.

20 years military + big booms outgoing and incoming, and numerous range days makes for dimished hearing. not quite to the hearing aid level though but close.

I have great hearing but I still use the game ear. The reason I do is not because I need assistance in hearing but it helps me hear those deer that are sneaking through, and the slightest snap of a twig under their feet let's you prepare accordingly. I only use it for bow hunting, not gun for obvious reasons but I love it and recommend it.

I've dabbled a bit in hearing enhancers for hunting. I came to this conclusion: If you are hunting big silent woods they help quite a bit, as advertised. If however you hunt smaller wood lots in amongst suburbia, all it will enhance is the local kids playing, the neighbor cutting his grass, and that damn dog up the street that never shuts up!
