You're probably aware of this with all you've been through, but just keep in mind that as little as a 1/32 change in your rest or nock height can make that much of a difference in bringing your broadheads and field points into alignment...

Good luck! It can be a long and tedious process, but that's part of what gives you SO much satisfaction in knowing that your bow is absolutely dialed in when you carry it afield, and what contributes a good portion to my confidence each year.

It's also a good reminder that we see each year: Shooting mechs should not be a band-aid for poor tuning! Even if I am shooting Rages (and I've tested them out as well), I want my bow tuned to absolute perfection! That's where we see people run into penetration problems and the like...

You've probably got a few more weeks before your season opens; don't give up now! :)

Changing nockpoint or rest height is gonna change everything a little, but the BH will be MORE responsive to a change, that is why you shoot a FP group, then a BH group, and adjust until BOTH are hitting about the same spot. I do this on 2 separate targets, ONE shot at a time, pull arrows, make a note, shoot again, repeat 3 times, if I'm consistently LEFT with my BH, then I'm moving my rest a touch to the right to fix what my BH's are telling me. Don't touch the sights, and shoot again. See how each impacts!!!! The BH's will move a LOT more than the FP's ever will. Once done, if you moved your FP group over 2" from where you wanted it, re-sight the bow in the BH and FP will both be resighted, because you got BOTH of them hitting same POI!!!!

I understand the concept behind the BH tuning, well atleast I should as much as I have been reading about it here lately and I am definantely not using the Rage Mechs as a band aid, I just want to try them out? ?

Ill be honest, for years, I always used Muzzys and always just sighted in to the broadhead. I used Slick Trick Mags last year and did not have to really move anything to get them on from my FP's.

I may move the nock point because there is now way I am going to try and move the rest and deal with timing issues AGAIN this year with the rest!!

KEep in mind I have not moved my rest at all since I started my "tuning" and somehow my Slick Tricks are now in line instead of shooting to the right like they were? I HONESTLY believe my main problem is ME right now! I am going to keep shooting for now and see how it pans out? I do have twenty days or so until the opener but only a limited amount of time to shoot(distances atleast) and I just hate the fact that if I move something now and not be able to get back to where I started becuase of something I am doing with MY shooting style, ya know?

Two days ago my Slicks were 3" low and 1 1/4" right at 20 yrds, and yesterday they were basically dead on without moving a thing???? Somethings changing and it definately is not the bow...?

Like I said I am going to get completely comfortable with myself and then see where the arrows fall then! I appreciate all the help!! Thanks!!

I remember back was I was younger trying to learn all I could and worried about every little possibility out there....a man at the archery shop looked at me after I was telling him what I thought was wrong or could be or may happen and he said "Just shoot your damn bow" and I did, I shot well and still shoot well...am I going to win a 3d shoot? hell no. Am I able to kill deer and be confident in my equipment? you bet. My bow is tuned and I can shoot any broad head I want. One day you can drive tacks with BH and the next day you will swear someone moved something...I must say to you Mdhardwoods...."just shoot your damn bow"....it will be fine and you are ready.
