I remember when Wallies commercials showed an American Flag blowing in the wind and boasting about how most of their products were union made in this country, them days are long gone! It got their foot in the door, I try to spend as little money there as possible.

You are right, this is not for a bowhunting forum,

and neither is you purely crap statement that I have no life experience, I am 39 years old, You know nothing of my experience, And I only stated the FACTS, period. If you family can continue to offer low prices and products that people want to buy you will prove my point that Wal-Mart is not the devil and that small business can survive. If your family fails at that then you will also prove a point that I made, that business that fail, do so because Wal-Mart provides people the things they want at the price the want to pay. No opinion just fact

Either you have never shopped or you have not been to a Wal-Mart because I have been there, for more than groceries, hundreds of times in the past 39 years that I have been alive. THEY HAVE LOWER PRICES!!!!!!!!!!! My wife just got home with the weekly groceries, Bananas 49c lb, Cambels chili 150 each and 239 at the local grocery store. Should you like I will travel to your families business and "comparison shop" for you, that way you will have the info to make accusations

Don't talk crap about another person if you know nothing about them.

A few listed clearance products I've picker up from Wally world over the last couple of years.
complete scent lock suit (hat, gloves, button down shirt, 6 pocket pants) $40
trail marker tacks .25 (bought like 10 boxes)
    tree spikes .50-$1 (different sizes)
    climber stand $40
    Remington 700 30 06 $200
This is just the stuff I remember. Pretty much everything is gone from the hunting clearance section already this year although they do still have feeders on clearance for $30.

Walmart is kinda like you and your buddy gettin chased by a bear. You don't have to outrun the bear, just your buddy. They don't have "everyday low prices", they just have to beat everyone around them in their area. Once the run them out of business then they can charge what they want. Now everyone in the world is trying to be just like them. One day all we're gonna have is a few big monopolies run by the government the way things are going. JMO, but my wife has worked for them for over 25 years. Depending on the management at the time it has been sometimes a very good place to work and sometimes terrible. One thing I can say is at least they have benefits. When I was just out of school and working retail I had to pay 25.00 a month to the retail union and got nothing out of it! And I worked for minimum wage and had no benefits whatsoever. They have good points and bad points but I will say since Sam died they have been getting more bad ones. lp

I shop there for sake of convience. As for running small shops out of business. We still have the ace hardware in town & wally has been there for 4 yrs at least. Ace is doing fine. Now in the other town, there was a food store that went out of business when the wally became a superwally. But they did have very high prices and I never shopped there because of it. It is funny how none of there stuff now is American made or at least very hard to find.
As for them not being friendly to workers, true. A Canadian store had the mechanics vote in a union. Next week it closed its doors rather than see a union in place.

Let's you and I go to Wal-Mart and see how much hunting stuff is made in America, because that same stuff is sold at Cabela's and Bass Pro and Gander and on every online dealer.

We should go to one of the stores Hank, do they still have a lot on sale or is it all gone.

I have a friend that has a hardware store, True Value I think. Anyway he's doing pretty good selling stuff that Walmart doesn't want to mess with. You know how if a product doesn't do x amount of dollars in sales they drop it. Or they make special buys and when that's over so is the product you've become familiar with using. It's all about the $ for Wally but that battle was fought a long time ago. In small towns like mine you shop there or do without! Just what they intended. One of the department manager's jobs is to go around town and price compare, they only beat the local stores in price, when they're all gone, look out. Everybody in retail wants to now be Walmart, look at what's happening to our local lumberyards now that there's Lowes, Home Depot and the like. Heck Lowes even painted thier stores like Walmart. Soon our retail will be run by giant chain monopoly like stores and the way things look the government will be running them after all the bailouts. It's my money (supposedly our tax money) and I want it now! LOL!!! (local lawyer ad) Speaking of bailouts, how can you bail someone out with monopoly money and expect it not to catch up with you eventually. They won't let us print our own money, why can they, without something of value to back it up? But back to Walmart, they are actually one of the few companies making money now. Wish my wife hadn't cashed in her stock! lp
