Thank you so much guys. Fitz, she actually did have a fawn with her. I talk a big game but when that fawn offered me shot after shot I could not shoot it. Then the mama doe moved in and started feeding side by side with the fawn. I could not get a shot off to save my life. It was so thick out there that 80% of the canopy covered the forest floor. You all are not going to believe this but just as she was stepping out of my shooting lane my son comes barreling out of the house at 0730 to ride his bike and yelled out. The doe froze and within a split second I drew and drilled her with my Magnus 2-blade broadhead. I hit her slightly high but it was a great slightly quartering away shot. It took out one lung and came out inside her off leg. She ran 25-30 yards and fell over dead. Wow! Awesome. Last year I missed my first three shots with my recurve. This year, one shot one kill.
Very cool VS.. very cool! Congrats on the first deer of the season as it looks like here on BH.Com. You the man!
Thank you all again for the kind words. I look forward to seeing you all behind your deer soon enough. I forgot how much work is involved in skinning and processing a deer!
