    What's up guys?
So being a full-time out of state college student, the only time I get to hunt is when Im home on vacation. I recently gained access to 8 acres of private property on the opposite side of the street I live on. These 8 acres border 400 acres of no hunting park land. A small creek bottom separates the park from the private property.
There is a cut corn field on my side of the street that the deer only use at night, I have pictures of does and several bucks using the field but only at night.
My theory is that the deer bed on the park, cross the creek and stage on the 8 acres, and then cross the street into the cut corn field at night. My plan is to hang a stand on the 8 acres in-between the creek and the houses.

I'll try to post a picture of what I'm talking about.

Ok so the blue line is the creek (which separates the park land from the private land). The orange outlines where I believe the deer stage, right up against the backside of two houses.

The white zig-zag to the right represents the south-facing slopes I believe the deer bed on. The top of this slope is a thicket, which I marked with a yellow pin. This is where I think the deer bed ( this is on the park ).

Im going to place a stand somewhere in the area of the yellow marker labeled "Rough Stand Location". This is between the creek and the staging area. There have got to be some heavy trails crossing that creek bottom.

Since this hunt will be with minimal scouting, Im going to use a climber stand. I'll just look for deer sign, trails, droppings, etc and then select a tree. Since Ill be so close to those houses, Ill be using my trusty bowtech.

What do you all think? This is the most I've ever scouted using strictly the internet lol.

Suburban area adjacent to a giant no hunting area, sounds like a great plan to me and a recipe for some giant whitetails. Are you able to track a deer into the "no hunt" zone if it goes in there after the shot? Just thinking that 8 acres, while a decent size area, might not be the final resting place of a deer that you shoot and they usually go back to where they feel safe when hit. Hopefully, they wouldn't make it there! Is the map oriented North?

I know you said the pin for the stand placement is just a rough area but I'd move it North (if the map is oriented correctly) by about 40-50 yards and really get into that pinch point. Wait for a N wind and go kill a giant.

If I shot a deer and it ran back into the park I would be able to recover it. The map is oriented N but its off by a couple degrees.

Your profile says you are in Southern MD. I've lived in MD my whole life- live in Mt Airy now (central). Is this property in MD? We have a predominantly NW wind here so that will work fine for that spot.

I think you have a great plan. You can use the topo overlay for Google maps and that may help with narrowing down your stand location. Good luck.

I used a topo map from mytopo.com. They generally seem to be more accurate than the google maps.
