I am seriously looking at the Predator sight by Viper. I want to know how the lighting mechanism works. The light is bought seperately and I couldn't find any pics of it installed. Anyone know if it bolts on to the pin guard or if it threads into a housing where the fiber optics start(light travels down the fiber)?????

You can do it either way. I prefer the mount at the end of the fibers over the pin guard. If you really want me to I can snap a few pics quick.

sweet thanks guys, the pics would be appreciated! I wasn't going to buy it unless it screwed into a housing.

There are actually three different places to attach a light.

The housing on the dovetail back where the fibers start.

I have two of these sights and although I plan on looking into the new Octane NXS when I can I can get my hands on it, I have no problem with what I got. IMO they are the most solid sight out there, esp for the money. Hope this helps.

For me.....not so well...I think some blank bailing is in order. Rob and Nate tore it up. Pat shot very well as well. I am not happy. I have to get back to center somehow.

Ben's pictures show you how the new ones are tapped for 3 places for the light.

Like Ben, I prefer the light at the end of the fibers in the extension bar. That way it lights up your fibers but not your pins. I'm glad they went that way over just the sight housing option. The light there lights both the pins and the fibers and I find that distracting. I have 4 Viper sights, 2 Microtunes and 2 Pro 2000's.

IMO, Viper makes one of the very best sights on the market today.

Great stuff Ben, thank you!! I will probably buy this sight over the summer. I am leaning towards the 4 pin adjustable because it is going on a hunting bow. However, do you guys use the Zeiss lens available for it?? I want to know if you think lens "could" work in the tree stand? If so, are they easy to attach and detach??----What strength would be too much??
