When does season 2 start? I really enjoyed the first season. My wife thought it was too violent and realistic...
Haven't watched this yet, hoping they have a first season marathon so I can get them all recorded rather than watching them streamed. Have heard good things about it Directv's on demand sucks
just a reminder... season 2 starts Thursday night! Set your DVRs! Vikings Season 2 Sneak Video - Vikings - HISTORY.com
Anyone wanting to watch the first season, History has a full season marathon starting at 2pm Wed. All 9 episodes back to back, DVR is set
That would be a nice way to watch the show, they generally leave the current season shows in such cliff hangers every week that it leaves you chewing on a finger for a week. The show is addicting.
Thoughts on last nights show? Lots of different sub plots can come out of last nights show... Interested to see where it goes from here....
It was pretty good, looks like Ragnar traded up. I'm not sure where they are taking this series, I hope they are careful just how far into the dramatic soap opera territory they take it because it's a fine line and they could easily fall off the edge of it into crap.
I'm thinking you are right. I was disappointed in the writing/script dialog... seems they got new writers and added lots of flowery language, drama, men crying/feelings - not that it is BAD necessarily... but these are tough men! no room for crybabies! ragnar cowering down to his woman trying to convince her to try the 3-way relationship - begging? what respectable Viking would be caught begging his woman... and then the resolution to the brother conflict. oh brother... based on the season previews at the end of the first show we are in for a roller coaster ride of relationship drama... seems the ex is gonna go hook up with the redbeard dud and then the son grows up and challenges dad? my remembrance of last season was that the language was pretty raw & direct without all this drama...
I completely agree. There will obviously be a big jump in time this season with Alexander Ludwig taking over as Bjorn. Too much time could shorten Ragnar's role in the series since he dies in that king's snake pit, of course unless they break away that far from the believed historical story.
I just watched the first season and I thought it was good. A little raw but still good. Can't wait to watch season 2
I'm still interested a few episodes into this new season. I like what they are doing with Rollo's character now and the direction it seems to be going. I thought the english chap was dead in this last weeks epi for sure....guess not yet anyway.
It will be interesting to see if Ragnar becomes jealous of Bjorn because Bjorn is primed to be a powerful viking. In real life he was bigger than Ragnar so it could get interesting. I think Athelstan (the captured monk) is going to turn fill circle and go back the the English to become powerful, maybe a king perhaps. He will be able to teach the English the viking fighting techniques and how Ragnar thinks which will ultimately help the English defeat Ragnar.
