Besides bowhunting I love fishing. A lot of times I wish I could get out on the water to fish, but since I don't own a boat. I had to come up with another way to get out on the water and enjoy myself like many of you that own boats. That way came to me by considering buying an inflatable boat. Just when I was going to buy one by chance I caught an episode of Bass Pro Generation X. Were they were doing some float tube fishing. Long story short, Float Tube fishing is done in England, Mexico, Spain, many places and it's the bomb! Many inaccessible water ways, by bigger boats are no problem for the Float Tube. with the polyurethane bottom and the 4 year warranty the people of Outcast makers of the Fish Cat 4 makes fishing fun. And if you go to different Websites you can find my particular tube for under $200.00 Dollars mine cost $100.00 caught it on sale, Insulated Waders $50.00, Fins $30.00 and life jacket $60.00. Note it's not advisable to float tube fish in many of the waters, in Florida, Georgia, So. Carolina and North Carolina etc. due to Gators or Crocodiles. Outside of the obvious It's pretty safe and it's a great way to get out there If you don't have the funds or space for a boat maybe a float tube is the answer for you.
Here's a fun video section from a Roland Martin Show. This guy has more boats than Jay Leno has cars, yet here he is in a tube. Just think with all that money... he still won't buy an electronic scale. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8EHs1UsYE0
Muzzy I was actually going to get a boat just like the one Roland Martin got until I got the video on Bass Pro Gen X. Prior to getting the Fish Cat 4 Float Tube I Emailed the producers of Gen X. They sent me videos of all the Float Tube Shows they did. I got a phone call from Jerry Martin and that shocked the heck out of me! I had other bass pros and they love the ideal of float tube fishing. Many of them told of the club in California Were I eventually spoke to Catchmo Caro of the SCCBBC and they have invited me to join them for a weekend of fishing they've sent me their specially designed lures and jigs as well as a host of club T-shirts. Here is just one of the many emails I've received from the Outdoor Show Personality. Shared Emails John McCalmont - Tournament Bass Fisherman and Host of Bass Champs I would watch it! Dave Appleton Manager of Television Show Production Bass Pro Shops Film & Video 2500 E. Kearney, Springfield MO 65898 Right after I got these responses I was pumped and I'll tell it has a certain cool factor, when you can get into tight spots and lakes and ponds no one else can. Ever see a body of water from the road that's inaccessible by car or boat? I have and I just pack my tube in sometimes I'm skunked. Sometimes I've caught some pretty big bass, blue gills, and crappie. At Claytor Lake Bass Boats and Kayaks have to stay a 100yds from some of the shores. there's no regs against a Float Tube so I hit all the sweet spots.
I have an 18 foot Ranger but there are times when I wish I had something really simple for small rivers, lakes and ponds or when we are on vacation and I would like to just get out for a few hours. I often wade fish with a flyrod or a small spinning rod, but I end up falling a lot on slippery rocks. Looks like fun, using a tube.
