For those of you that video your or someone else's hunts, not professionally... What video camera do you use? I was looking at the Sony Handycam DCR-RX40. It has a 60X zoom and its small so it wouldn't take up much room or be too heavy.

Im looking forward to filming my hunts and my fiance' started hunting with me this past year so I'd like to film her hunts when shes with me. She killed her first 2 deer this year (a doe and a spike) and I'd say she really enjoyed it.

    Thanks for the help.

I have a Sony Handycam sx40 not rx40, same optical zoom. I like it because it is small but most importantly it is what I could afford. If you're looking for some serious gear though, there are people on this site that have some awesome equipment and produced some great footage. For what I do, my camera is just fine. Good luck, its fun but takes hunting to a whole other level trying to get a kill on film. There are some pros when it comes to filming hunts on this site. But I'm not one of them :D

I use the same or very simliar camera as bowmanj, the HandyCam's are a great affordable option. One piece of advice, even if you get a cheap one, get a camera arm. Gorilla makes on that is around 30 bucks, worth every penny. It will get you alot better footage. Good luck and have fun.
