No, and they did not set the time on the camera to est standard time. It was set to gmt. So I argued I did not authorized anyone to drive my truck at that time. The ticket had two times on it.
Many States/Towns now are setting up speed traps in which no cop is present. They have high speed cameras that if you are going over the limit, will take pictures of both you the driver and the license plate. They then simply mail you the ticket. Tennessee is starting to sprout them up everywhere.
They've been used in Germany for decades. Difference there was I didn't have the chance to go to court to fight it even though I was obviously not the African American driving my vehicle. Since it was not reported stolen from the time the photo was taken and two weeks later when they sent the ticket, you as the owner are automatically the owner of a hefty fine.
Well, even though I didn't agree with it, it's not America. I had to remember that driving in a foreign country is a privilege not a right. I paid the ticket and got the commander and 1SG to convince the guy that was driving to reimburse me and I never let anyone drive my car again!
If they are for not stopping at a red light, go to trial. 50% chance you win. If she stopped late they will dismissed.
Germ fought the law and the......... Germ won!!!! Nice. What a racket. Did you still have to pay the court costs? In some places you do so they still "win".
It's not really court, a lawyer makes the ruling. No cost to me at all, but if the lawyer decides against you, you have the right to appeal. Then you go to court and it cost you 150 bucks, or pay the 120.00 fine.
Red light and speeding cams are great revenue generators. I've read reports that they create more accidents... not less but who cares as long as the government is making a buck. Personally, I think it's cheating.... a real, live cop should catch me or else it doesn't count. (har har)
After spending afternoon with my fellow violators, it's pretty obvious who is causing accidents, lol My favorite line. "i know I stopped sir" "mam it was a speeding violation" Haha
As far as St. Louis goes, the future of red light cameras in up in the air. http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/...cle_5a6affd1-b415-51e8-956d-94f3c5a123f9.html
