What do you guys use most on your cameras...the Video mode or just Photo mode..... I find myself leaving my 2 Coverts on the Video mode...45 seconds at a pop! I must admit the batteries on the Black 60(12AA) are at full charge going on 2 months with one camera, it has taken a lot of pics and tons of Videos, I'm liking that!
I like the videos, but they fill my cards too quick and are a pain to go through. I have mine on photos for now.
I did like the Ambush IR cam I had for a week or so, it would take a single pic before the Video...that was nice! Other than that, I hated that camera! LOL!
I always run my M80 in the video mode as well as my Bushnell. The homebrews take my stills. Blessings........Pastorjim
The batteries lose enough juice that the wildgame innovations cameras won't turn on after 2 weeks of video. However, switching to still after the batteries are "dead" gives another 2 months of still shots. I use stills outside of season so I can get more images, but will switch back to video during season as I'll be in the woods a lot more often and can change batteries while there. That may change when I get rid of the WI and switch over to Bushnell, as the batteries are supposed to last a lot longer.
I like photo. Videos take forever to go through, drain the battery to fast, us up to much space, and really arnt that exciting to me. Pictures I can go through fast, keep the camera out for a long time, use a smaller memory card, and so much easier to show off pictures! lol
I like video if the cam is blackflash set up near a scrape lots of info to be had from them. I run mine 15-25 sec when i do I also hate looking thru them but sometimes it's really worth it. Lots of times in pic mode you will get a pic of the first deer and miss the second or third deer because of each cams recovery times either by the manufacturer or the setting of the cam itself ie. my spypoint has a 30second delay but does has burst but the 46 ir bulbs do get picked off from time to time. The red ir flash there is too much flash duration on video and on burst mode for some and the cam is going to get picked off and it will change deer patterns around the cam site. some cams pics are timed much better to there flash then others...My ltl acorn cams have are some of the best i have seen. Putting the cam up higher will help, but black flash is the way of the future. The dlc black 60 has some of the best black flash range i have seen yet in the market.
I like videos but my camera doesn't have a time and date stamp for video so I just stick with pictures.
Here ya go Tony, a day video and night video from the Black 60. This buck was coming in daily to Lucky Buck. I changed up to something different, he came in once in a weeks time and walked right thru the mineral lick as seen in the night time video, he wasn't interested in the change of minerals, no deer were! About a month ago... About a week or so ago
