I posted my write up on my buck kill a while back, but I've been so busy that I haven't had much time to get the video done. Here's just a short clip of the kill shot. The way the buck came in, I had to draw way early and wait for him, so I couldn't move and adjust the camera, so it's not the best, but at least it's on film. I will work on better cameramanship in the future, but this is the biggest buck I've shot, and wasn't going to risk the shot messing with the camera. Now the pressures off on a good deer, I can work on getting better footage from now on http://vimeo.com/80464347
Sweet Congrats, your doing a heck of alot better than I am at getting a buck kill self filmed. Thanks for sharing the footage.
Awesome, congrats!!!! Great buck and hey at least he was still in the frame when you whacked him, great job!!!
good job! I hear it gets easier the more you do it!! im still learning the art of self filming as well, unless you can see the view finder screen, its tough to know if the deer is in the picture!
Yea, and my XHA1S has a poor view finder. Low pixel quality and it's not very flexible. I'll probably upgrade at some point to a camera that records to SD. The XHA1S is still a good camera, just getting a little outdated now.
It is, but it's limited in some of the features that newer cameras are coming out with. The Viewfinder is lightyears behind some of the newer cameras, and the ease of using the SD cards is far superior to running tape. Only get about an hour on each tape, so I have to be sure not to run out when I need it the most. The 20X zoom is the bomb though, and it does pretty good in low light. Lots of adjustability and customization available on it.
Ok, I'll keep you in mind. Not sure when I'll be upgrading, but had been thinking about before next season possibly.
I NEVER get tired of vids like that! Self filming iz not easy and when it goes right its just awesome! Congrats on a nice one! Cool vid!
