Here's the link to the video of our hunt; Mike does a great job with putting these things together in his "studio", LOL. I'm sure it's not the same technology that gets used to edit the real HB stuff for t.v. because he told me this program cost only $150 or so... but I was impressed as heck with its ability to fade from scene to scene, do slow-motion and split-screens. Then again, it doesn't take much to impress me in this arena. You guys will get to enjoy my first miss in a little over 7 years, and I still have absolutely no idea what happened. We actually reviewed the film frame by frame to see if I pulled the shot or not, and the bow remains absolutely rock-solid throughout the shot. Perhaps it was just the pressure of being in front of the camera for the first time ever! :D I haven't had a chance to shoot again since I got home; it's been all Daddy time since I hit the door. Cool thing is the doe I missed is the exact same one that I nail later; she was SO curious as to what happened that after running down to the end of the field we were on, she kept trotting halfway back to us trying to figure out what happened... We were running out of camera light so I pulled the grunt tube out, pointed it behind and to the right of me, and gave a fawn bleat followed by a couple doe grunts. You'll immediately see deer run in from left off-camera looking for the source of the bleat and grunts. Those deer gave the doe out of range the extra comfort to come on in closer to continue her investigation. Curiosity kills more than cats! Thanks again, Mike; I had a great time hanging with you guys! http://vimeo.com/7155018
How do you get away with all that movement, that most be one hell of a setup or camo Congrats on the doe
Or unpressured deer not on high alert. You can get away with murder in certain situations. Great footage by Hunsucker. Nice whiff. :D
I may have forgot how to shoot but I didn't forget to know WHEN to move, LOL. It's pretty easy when they're that far away AND looking away from you.
Congrats again on the doe Greg. Nice work on the video too. I particularly liked the little forky messing with the 10 point who was like, "Son, you better stop poking me in the eye like that.":D
very nice video there boys. your right, it's nice to have a video to go back on & take a look at what really happened. Congrats on the steaks!
I didn't think there was too much movement at all. Great hunt and video Greg & Michael. Representing Missouri well!
Thanks guys! We had a blast hunting together for a couple days. It was a little too early to catch a big mature buck on his feet, but we did manage to see some really nice up and comers! Can't wait for these next few weeks!
Great video guys!! I missed a deer for the first time in years the other day. I immediately followed that shot up with another miss on the same deer. I could have shot yet again but I didn't want to miss the same deer three times. Happily, none of this was on video, so I can deny these misses and this post. :D
Nice video, and great doe. Is there a racetrack nearby? The background noise sure sounds like there is.
