I love the videos from my trail cameras. I was just wondering why some people don't leave their cameras set to video. Is it just because it uses up too much memory or battery?

Also, is there some way to pause a video and save that paused spot of the video as a picture?

    Thanks again.

I can only say after a cam is out in the field for a few months it takes a long time to sit threw all the videos and then it takes for ever to upload them with my computer/modem speeds living here in the sticks,I have hundreds some really good but taking hours to upload one video drives me nuts.

I use windows movie maker to capture a picture from a video. I do love the videos but won't get crazy until later in the year like big velvet antler time and then over scrapes :)

Click on pictures then find the video you want where it is stored on your computer Then click on the video. Pause the video where you want the picture then click on tools (up top) then click on take picture from preview then save picture :)

Heres a link to a video I made with windows movie maker Then up loaded to you-tube and audio swapped in the music. It is a lot of fun : )

I rarely use video modes; mostly because it makes it hard to "scan" quickly through 1000's of pics. Typically we get lots of does/fawns on our trail cameras.

However, if you are setting up on a scrape and expect more bucks than does it can be interesting. Also helps estimate the score of the buck as you get lots of angles of it's rack.

Oh man, I'm getting the itch bad. I don't generally use video mode just because of the number of does and small bucks we get on camera, I'd have full cards and dead batteries in a week.

When do you guys usually start setting up over scrapes?

I start my mock scrapes Sept 1 and they get activity right out of the gates. But
Oct 15 - Nov 15 is the best time here in WI in my opinion !
