Wondering what video editing software you guys use and how much is it? I really want to get into making outdoor videos and Ive been asking around. Seems like most software is around $500? Thanks
I use Pinnacle Studio. Not the best on the market but great to get started I have been very happy with it Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk
I feel I have to chime in on the subject because I have been down this road. For starters, before you think about software, you need to make sure you have a computer capable of editing the footage you have. If you are recording AVCHD footage, (1920x1080) the file sizes are very large. Once you start cutting and compressing those files it can really used everything your computer's got to run the program. I recommend a dual core processor at least. A good graphics card (512mb) or bigger and a hard drive that can run 7200rpm or faster. A firewire or USB 3.0 (if your computer has usb3.0 slot) external hard drive to store your files on will also be helpful. Once you have a computer that is cabable of running the editing software, editing can be very fun! I have used Pinnacle and feel it to be very user friendly. I now own a Imac and run Final Cut. Alot more money than $500. Do what you can afford and work your way up as you go if you enjoy it!
I agree...pinnacle is very capable for starting out...it will run you $100 at best buy....it can do a lot of different things....i would start with something like that until you get really serious about it. i started with it and now I use Avid Studio Pro (same company and software...just the high end version). good luck
I am still doing all my filming with my handycam so Pinnacle is more then fine for what I want to do. Like I said I have been happy with it but Im am looking forward to upgrading both my camera and software next season!
I use Sony Vegas 11. It's worked well for what I need it to do thus far. Below are a couple shorts I put together last year during the hunting season. Take your time when choosing, your ability to tell a story is far more important than what software you use.
