My friend and I have been hunting for awhile and we are really considering to film our hunting, But we first need a good quality camera. Wanting to know some good suggestion for you guys! Not looking to spend a great amount.
What is a great amount? To me a great amount is anything over $3000. But, that is my budget. When you look for a camera make sure it performs good in low light. This is important. You want one that you can accessorize easily. Being able to add a hood, external mic, external light and remote are key. Go to Campbell Outdoors - Home they have camera hunting packages and this will help give you some ideas. You can do some window shopping and see various setups. You can then look at other similar cameras and see what you can and cannot afford.
I can't agree more with Sam ^ with that said Go Pros or Epic cams for POV and second and third angle shots are great. I am starting out too and I went with a Canon VIXIA HFR400 with Audio Technica Pro-24 Shotgun Mic. Camera was only $200 cause I didn't want to spend a ton of money as a newb, but already see myself looking at upgrading the camera. Mine does not accept a remote because it has no LANC input, so thats something to def consider if wanting to acessorise your camera set up with things such as lenses, lens hoods, remote, shotgun mics, etc. I would def look at Canon though they have a lot of good options in their VIXIA line. Do you have a specific budget?
See I want something that I will be happy with. I heard many great things will the Go pros as a second view. I went on youtube and seen very impressive Films. I don't want to spend a ton as a newby but, I would rather spend more the first time then more later.
