I bought some V3's from hunters friend, and had them cut and fletched with the inserts installed. When I got them, I noticed that the lip of the insert is larger in diameter than the arrow shaft and the field points. I have some Carbon Express arrows as well, and everything's flush with those. I don't know that this has any effect on arrow flight, but I'm a little OCD when it comes to little things like this. Has anyone seen this before? Are all Victory inserts going to be like this? I shoot V6's and the inserts seem over sized on them as well, I never really thought about it before to tell you the truth. I have been shooting with them for over half a year and have had no problems.
I didn't think it would have any effect on arrow flight, but I'm kinda picky about little details like that. It's not a deal breaker by any means. I can always file them down to make them flush. Considering how inexpensive they are compared to other arrows with similar specs, a little hand fitting is no big deal. Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using Tapatalk 2
Thats how they are designed I believe; at least if I am understanding you correctly. It is a weight forward technology intended to pack more thump (Penetrator Broadhead Adapter). I have this on my Victory Vaps and this combined with narrow arrow diameter yields quite the penetration and grouping.
These aren't the VAP's. Those use the penetrator because the shaft is super thin. The V3's are standard diameter shafts. Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using Tapatalk 2
