Playing hurt wasnt the best decision by Favre, we know it hurt the Jet's last year. Favre is to prideful to sit down because of injury, but he usually plays good even when hurt (look at all the mid-2000 years where he had the broken thumb and they won the division repeatedly).

All the stats/injuries aside, Favre would still win games and be a productive QB if he was in the league this year :D

Vick has always and probably will have moments and flashes of great feats... but really, he hasn't and probably won't ever be a force to hang your hat on. I wouldn't sign on for all the extra baggage he and his family always seem to attract. Loser. Big mistake. Oh yeh, you might get a high light reel or two once in a while, but he'll screw it up when it counts usually.

i'm not totally sure i agree with that... when vick has time on his side and doesn't HAVE to scramble he actually can throw the ball pretty well, granted, he's not going to be a top tier QB, but, he's good enough for GB or MN to make a playoff run if he's managed to keep in shape in prison...

now, I totally agree that his presence on the sidelines creates a sideshow atmosphere that the pack definitely does not need this year... with favre out of the league GB can get back to biz with Rodgers (frankly who I think is only an average QB at best)

If Rodgers proved anything last year, it was that he is far from an "average" quarterback. With the pressure that he had, after the Favre saga, to put up pro-bowl numbers, that is unbelievable. Yes, he blew some close late games, but he was essentially in his "rookie" season, as he had never started before or even thrown 20 passes in a game (except maybe Dallas in 2007).

To replace him with Vick would be CRAZY...but, a team like Minnesota on the other hand, could benefit.

Yes Vick is a running/scrambling type QB. However most of it was running for his life with the holes created by his offensive line. Put a good o-line in front of him and he CAN throw the ball from the pocket. The dude has a rocket for an arm.

you need to see Rodgers play in person... the TV makes him look a LOT better than he is, I go to 1-2 home games a season and he seriously is mediocre, maybe slightly ahead of mid pack in the NFL... he's a slow decision maker, often waiting for the receiver to get open before he releases the ball, which usually means he's not open by the time the ball gets there... he has a nice touch on the ball but not the blazing arm strength the even old man favre still has... his numbers last season I credit more to him having arguably the best receiving corp in the NFL... not one stand out but each extremely good at getting to the ball... the other stat that REALLY stands out is that Rodgers had under him nearly the exact same team Favre took to the NFC champ game, Rodgers didn't even make the playoffs...

edit - I'm not advocating replacing Rodgers with Vick in any way shape or form... just sayin, don't give rodgers as much credit as you think he deserves... this coming from a lifelong packer fan...
