Not sure how i would feel about that. I have always said i think people are too harsh on Mike Vick...but as a player on my team? Not sure...

He wouldnt play starting QB, thats for sure

He would probably be just as effective a backup as Fylnn or Brohm...

Im still thinking reciever or kick returner, just because hes a natural athlete

I agree, but do you think he could still be a starting quarterback? I just dont think he can be anymore...

I don't think there's any question that he can be. The talent doesn't go away, he just needs to be "re-tuned."

Really? Comparing whether FAVRE could come back to Vick? There's not even a similarity there?

Vick hasn't thrown a pass in the NFL since 2006.....

Name a quarterback who took a 2 year hiatus (from the NFL completely) then came back and started in the NFL?

Vick one of the best in the league? again? Are we talking about the same Vick (not as much of a joke this time)

He is 38-28 as a starter with a QB rating of 75...he's great at what he does (running type QB), but FAR from one of the best Qb's in the league

To be honest I don't think he's worth a damn at actually passing the ball. Running the ball, he's awesome! Defenses respect that but they never respected his throwing much.

Thats all the Packers would need is another side show atmosphere like last year. I don't think A Rodg needs to be answering questions about Vick if it were to come to that. I'll stick with what "we" got.

Vick has a cannon for an arm, alot of people forget that. But he's never proven to me that he's a winner. That's something you can't teach either IMO.

I will gladly bring this thread back up when he quarterbacks "your" teams. As I said befor, I am a Falcon fan for life, born and raised right here, and nothing has ever been or will be close to the love hate relationship that Michael and I had for a few years. Fastest palyer compared to others around him that i have ever seen, and remember we had dion for years. Truly a specimen to watch, just not for me anymore. I have also stated that we tried to run Roddy and Michael Jenkins out of town because even though vick had the second worst completion percentage in the league it must be their fault. Now Roddy is a pro bowler and Jenkins is a legitimate #2. He will play again, and he will start if only because he will fill seats.

    38-28 with the FALCONS!....lol

Last time i checked, they made it to a Super Bowl right before he got there, and he had Warrick Dunn his whole career. They were not a "horrible" team, just an average one.

Favre is NOWHERE near the athlete Vick IS (not was). He never was (Favre wasn't).

Ok, never saw where this was relevant

It's like most things.....If I'm drafting or signing players....I'm signing ATHLETES. Vick posesses something you can't teach. Speed. That bodes well for running and it keeps defenses honest. If you're a LB against Favre.....ya think he's gonna tuck it?

How much good did that running/speed do him? Im pretty sure Favre won 3 MVP's and went to 10 Pro-Bowls..compare Vick? Not even close, in any category except rushing yards..and he plays QB  If im drafting/signing a QB, im taking somebody with awareness and somebody who can THROW THE BALL. Speed is not a required attribute for a QB.

Vick is probably the best running QB to play in the league. Steve Young had the legs and the arm (and the intelligence). He's the only one that comes close to Vick in his ability to gain ydg on the ground. ON THE RIGHT TEAM.....he'll decimate defenses. I've seen him do it.

Yea, crappy defenses. Running is an EXTRA attribute for quarterbacks...You have to be able to pass first, and Vick is BELOW average at that.

You say he's just a runner like it's a handicap. I see it as a HUGE asset.

    See above

You'd have to build a team around him for him to truly shine, though....and he's likely missed that window. Maybe not.

They got close in 04, but that was it

If I had a team and the choice between Favre and Vick.....I take Vick

Wow, i strongly disagree here. I would take Favre over Vick now, 3 years ago, 5 years ago...whenever.

I truly believe Vick would have been better at a skill position like WR or RB. He is a handicap to a team as a QB because he cant do what matters most for his position, and that is throw the ball!

One thing we all forget is that at V Tech he had that huge are and it was very accurate. He threw one of the nicest deep balls a college kid has ever thrown. Remember him throwing all over FSU in a game where vick almost single handidly defeated a very superior FSU team. Sadly, that accuracy never made it to Atlanta. He can be an electric playmaker for someone...and luckily I get to watch without a vested interest this time.

I hear ya Jeff, i agree that he is an athlete, and that IF you build him a team he could be succesful, but the same could be said for almost anybody,

I still think you were a little rash about the Favre/Vick thing, you would really take Vick?!?

...as a side note, i really thought Vince Young was going to come into the NFL and steal Vick's thunder as a multi-threat QB, and after his rookie season i still held those hopes, but now, not so much. I think he needs a change of scenery and a fresh start.

I agree, but THAT quarterback was one of the top 5 TO EVER PLAY QB IN THE NFL.....

Now.....he is still a top 10 IN THE LEAGUE, i really believe he could come back and pass for 3800 yards and 25 Td, he was going to last year before he tore his bicep, but that storyline has been beat to death i know...

I think he is really done now though, and if i know TT, he doesn't want any more controversy then what he has already created with his statements...Green Bay likes it quite

He's a PR nightmare, without an extremely strict morals and conduct clause in the contract no team in their right mind would sign him. That pretty much leaves Oakland...:D

Here's a 2009 ranking (roughly) give or take a few places depending on who you talk to.....

    1 Drew Brees
    2 Tom Brady
    3 Peyton Manning
    4 Kurt Warner
    5 Donovan McNabb
    6 Aaron Rodgers
    7 Philip Rivers
    8 Carson Palmer
    9 Tony Romo
    10 Jay Cutler
    11 Matt Schaub
    12 Matt Ryan
    13 Ben Roethlisberger
    14 Matt Hasselbeck
    15 David Garrard
    16 Eli Manning
    17 Trent Edwards
    18 Jake Delhomme
    19 Jason Campbell
    20 Kyle Orton
    21 Matt Cassel
    22 Joe Flacco
    23 Chad Pennington
    24 Marc Bulger
    25 Shaun Hill
    26 Kerry Collins
    27 Brady Quinn
    28 JaMarcus Russell
    29 Mark Sanchez
    30 Byron Leftwich
    31 Brett Favre
    32 Tarvaris Jackson

Who do you take out of the top 10 to replace with Favre (now) as a top 10 QB? Favre might fit somewhere in the 22-25 range with a good season.

This is exactly how I feel, one hell of an athlete - but his accuracy throwing a ball is more of a risk than an asset to a team - however he is such a running threat - will open up any teams running game

And being a titans fan - Young has been a disappointment and is a legend in his own mind only - he needs to be traded

    How can i justify it?

How about his 94.5 passer rating through weeek 11 last year (somewhere around there, he tore his bicep)

On your list NY, put him right below Jay Cutler and above Matt Schaub...thats where i saw ESPN have him at one point,

And if it was ME, i would only have Brees, Manning, Rodgers, Warner and Rivers ahead of him...but that is biased.

btw...He through 9 interceptions after the supposed bicep tear, im not saying he wouldnt still throw 12-15, but it wouldnt be 20. Look at 2007 for that justification.
