I have been a Verizon customer for years and it is time for new phones for the girlfriend and I. So on the 5th of march we ordered 2 new Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. We where going out of town and the salesman on the phone assured us they would be at our door in 2 days. 2 days come and go and nothing so we call and we find out the phones are on back order and have been for some time! So we where lied to by the first guy and that made me beond mad. We then proceded to cancel the order and after 5 days finally got our money back. Well on the 15th of march we decided that we would just order the phones and wait for them. The original ship date was the 21st and they never shipped. so it was pushed to the 27th and they still never shipped. So we called on the 27th and we where assured that they would ship today. GUESS WHAT?!?!?! Nothing! So we just called Verizon and we where informed they canceled our order because it was just sitting there PAID in full. So why did they not ship it. They tried to say sorry and redo the order but tried to charge us and extra $50 per phone compared to the pirce we paid on the order they canceled! So after an hour on the phone just when we thought it was straightened out. THEY HUNG UP ON US!!!!! This is no way to treat a customer let alone keep one!!!!!! Sorry for the long rant i needed to vent.
Verizon has also been jerking us around lately with our bill. My daughter has an Iphone and had unlimited data. She had trouble and had to send it in for work. Of course she took off service to that phone and put it on another for 2 days. They will not give her back unlimited data because her plan changed and they no longer offer unlimited plans. They have continuously played games with the charges on our bill and I'm about to go elsewhere, even if it cost a little more. My wife gets a 17% through work with them but it isn't worth the hassle anymore. And I've been with them probably 10 years. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
Just a suggestion. I don't know if you went to a "REAL" Verizon store or one of the privately owned little outlets that is their own business. ALWAYS.... when buying phones and doing services like that.... Go TO A REAL VERIZON STORE FRONT. You'll spend a half hour and walk out the door with everything you ever wanted. Mom and pop outlets are a pain in the *** when it comes to phones and service and changing over phone books and all that. Honestly, I drove 30 miles with my brother when we wanted new phones and were done within an hour. I got basic upgraded, brother got full blown droid loaded and working. My buddy went to mom and pop outlet and spent over an hour, 3 trips and finally got phones working... but they charged him for copying phone books. NO WAY... do you have to wait for a droid of any kind today in the right store. PLUS... the real Verizon store is cheaper.
If there is any way you can get US Cellular, try it, Thats all I have had for about the last 15 years, and I have not had any issues !!!
I agree with you but their service from the main office has turned to **** in the past but 2 years. Didn't they get sued once, imo, wont be long and it will be happening again. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
Yes... Been a US Cellular Customer for years and when we've ever had a issue, they've always been really good to work with, and the reception is better than anything else around here.
That's funny! The positive US Cellular comments that is. When we moved to where we are now, US Cellular was the only company with signal here. Last September our reception went straight down the crapper. I called them and they said they'd check it out and call us back. December, called them again and they said they'd check it and get back with us. Called in Feb, same song and dance. I talked to them again at the beginning of this month and said if they can't get it fixed, we're going to drop them. First response was "we don't guarantee that you'll get reception." Second response was "The geography where you live has changed and the tower can no longer get a signal to your home." I told them I have line of sight with the tower, which is no more than a mile away. This idiot said "Just because you can see the tower, does not mean the tower can see you." Finally, a supervisor wrote ANOTHER ticket and said he would follow this problem and make sure I got satisfaction. Last week, I get a call from someone claiming to be from US Cellular. The guy said he had information for us but had to verify he was talking to me before he could say anything. He wanted my last 4, I told him "no". Then, he wanted mothers maiden name. Again, I said "no". I tried to enlighten him by asking him what number he called. He gave me my phone number. I asked him "where did you get that phone number?" "Off of your account." I said I had no way to verify he was from US Cell so I could not verify anything. He hung up on me. I called US Cell back and finally got a human on the line. I verified who I was (Since I initiated the call), and they transferred me to Tech Support. The guy at TS said "Since you refused to verify yourself, we deleted the ticket and the record." As soon as we move to a home with competition, US Cellular is going out the window.
Sounds like they handled that like they should have... Who else would be calling you about your tower reception problem...? Mother's maiden name... I'm pretty sure they're not going to steal your identity from that. Sorry you had trouble, but sounds like for someone wanting help... you really gave them down the road.
Im in the same boat witg verizon. An extra ammo 200 bucks just appears every month and they cant figure out from where.
1. It is common business practice NOT to ask for identifiers when YOU initiate the call. Calling and claiming to be a business is a common scam used by identity theftsters. You always ID the caller, not the person being called. 2. For them to claim that the ticket and file were deleted within 5 minutes (from the first call being terminated and calling tech support back is BS). 3. This is after not hearing anything back 3 times I called about it. If you want to do business and actually be successful, you resolve issues not ignore them. 4. The request for MMN was after I refused to give them any part of my SSN.
Verizon SUCKS plain and simple! We've been Verizon customers for years as well and am tired of the poor customer service as well. As soon as my current contract is up were the hell outta verizon for good.................
I have AT&T and went into store with my brother so he could upgrade his iPhone to the newest one. At one point it was $100 which isn't bad. Now they charge $200 for an upgrade and an extra $36 as a upgrade fee. If $200 wasn't ridiculous enough they had to charge more. So I've been thinking about going to verizon next year because the prices are getting ridiculous at AT&T but now doesn't seem like its any different. But we will see. I just wish that phone companies and apple weren't so damn greedy and actually cared about the consumer. That day will never come though.
Coop. My wife and I just bought the U.S. Cellular store in town and two others as of the first of March. Go in there and tell the ladies up front that I said to figure out what the heck is going on and get you taken care of. My wife manages the stores, she will more than likely be there also. Give them a chance to take care of this for you. They are getting A LOT of new customers coming from all competitors because they provide great customer service and have some of the most competitive plans.
I understand the common misconception with this but it's not always true. Yes, sometimes that is the case but most of the time the people at a Premiun Retailer can get stuff done a lot easier and quicker than those at a corporate location. "Indirect" sellers are more worried about getting you into a phone that fits your needs. If you go to a corporate location they are all about getting you to buy the newest, coolest phone. They don't care if that phone fits your needs or not. I have all of the phones at the same price or cheaper than the corporate locations. If they run special promotion, then so do we. We take pride in our customer service, because after all that is the only thing bringing you back to my store. We have a corporate location about 500 yards away from our store front and we are constantly building our customer base because the corporate location's "don't care" attitude. Unfortunately with your experience, whomever was running the "mom and pop" location needs a lot of training. Don't be scared of the little small businesses. They are what built America.
