I’m hunting new property this year. Only have one buck on film so far. Still trying to figure out travel routes. I can’t put feeders or minerals out on this property so I’m relying on funnels and pinch points for photo locations. Good luck this season everyone, and keep the photos coming!

This will be the third season I have watched this buck, and I believe that’s going to put him somewhere around 4 1/2 years old . I found a shed from him this winter. Here’s a pic of him from when I moved in, threw some corn on an old stump, and put my camera up on the satellite dish pole. Then a pic from last year, and then a few days ago. Can’t wait to see what he looks like when October gets here[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I went to bait and check hog traps today. I would like to be able to stay off the place but the hogs will overrun it if I do. IMAG0785.JPG IMAG0433.JPG IMAG0343.JPG

I was able to check a few cameras and found my number 1 from last year off to a great start along with a few other deer.

I have a couple showing some potential. Sure do like watching them grow. Ended up with 6 juvenile hogs in the trap this weekend, which means only two little ones got away. The buck in the second pic is the offspring of a genetic out here that always makes for awesome older bucks with crazy racks.

I like the junk he has at the base of his antlers. He will have some good character!

I wouldn't put him anymore than 3.5 from your post earlier. Body is slim and tone. Not much sag to him from I can I see? Good progress though! :tu:

Haven’t had a lot of action in my normal spots yet but it’s still early. I haven’t been back to the earlier spot since the pull on that buck hoping for more pics of him in a couple weeks. Love watching them grow this time of year. IMG_0178.JPG IMG_0181.JPG

He has some pretty big bulbs on the end so he still has a ways to grow. I think you have a young one to watch though! I'm chomping at the bit to check my cameras tomorrow when I head to the lease. Eager to see how much my big boys have grown as well.

Didnt have many pics to share this go round, but captured my #1 about 750+ yards from where we normally catch him during the summer months. Doesn't seem far by a crow flight, but what is the typical range for a buck during the summer? I've read, they usually stick to about a hundred yards from a food source typically. But here he is from the side. He is going to be special. I have pics of him early on splitting his brow tine as well.

  17. I have this deer showing up. I could be wrong, but it seams allot of your southern deer start much earlier than us up here (Saskatchewan).. I think he' will be a good deer? Healthy looking deer, having a hard time getting an approx. age.. any thoughts?

Well on the flipside of that, they do not have near the body on them down south as they do up north. Nice buck, if I had to guess I would say 4.5yo but I claim to be no expert.

  19. Yes, I do have to agree with that, I seen some real porkers during the rut last year that would score only 130-140, but complete cows.. mind you this was during the rut,
