I'm curious what the basic thinking is regarding bucks in velvet. Aren't they generally in their home range while in velvet, excluding being enticed to a certain area/food source? I'm referring to bucks who don't have access to crops.

I would call it there summer range and most bucks I have seen move from it after shedding velvet. Most I have seen will return at some point during the rut, but never stay long. I have seen a few show back up late winter as long as the food is there.
