    I got my early season buck Capt. Hook back today from the taxidermist. He had to send the horns out to be freeze dried and then mounted on a reproduction skull.

    That's the first buck I have ever seen in velvet while hunting let alone kill one! They are usually way out of velvet by the time my season comes in here in Jersey.

    Yeah up in north nj they all shed velvet a week before season
