So my wife has been driving a Subaru for quite a while. Hopefully my truck will be paid off soon and we will get her into another vehicle. I've been suggesting we get her another Subaru or an SUV hoping to get ahead of this and avoid the minivan topic. Today she told me she wants a minivan.

I promptly told her I can't be seen in a minivan but I'm not sure I'm going to win this battle.

Anyone else recently get a family truckster? Any funny/informative stories to tell or advice on something a little cooler than a minivan?

Tough one there, if she is set on the van.

I would show up in a big Ford Truck ... then say ... Oooops.

I've been fortunate that my wife has always refused to get a minivan.

Now that my daughter has moved out and my son will soon be 16, she has decided now she wants an SUV Instead of a car.

We went the Honda Pilot route, and I have been pleased.

We have a Ford Flex and like it, as much as one can like a grocery getter.

We have three kids. We could never bring ourselves to be van people. My wife bought a Chevy Traverse. I'd take it almost anywhere I would take my truck.

We have a Buick Enclave and it fits the 4 kids fine. All my kids are still in car seats. My truck fits all the kids fine, but my wife has to sit in the middle if we call take it.

We have been having this argument for about 6mo at my house. 3 kids and they have outgrown the back seat of our smaller SUV. I want a larger SUV, the wife doesn't want a "gas guzzler" so she is insisting on a minivan which I refuse to buy. My argument is the vehicle rarely leaves our small hometown so the gas issue is kinda irrelevant. Funny thing is a year ago she was against the van also... SMH... Jury is still out...

    Best of luck :tu:

Mini vans are the only way to go when you have a family and you are constantly on the go. My daughter is in travel softball and often times it's all 4 of us and grandparents that want to tag along and the mini van is perfect with plenty of room. No crawling to a third row back seat, etc.. Sorry.....I know that isn't what ya wanted to hear LOL!! Oh but I do still have my truck....

We were in the same boat but luckily she wasn't too into the vans(or their price tags) and we just picked up a Toyota Sequoia for her Memorial Day weekend...I love it. Has a lot of room for the fam plus 4wd, v8, decent tow package for camping/fishing if need be.

Ask me again in a month after I've filled the gas tank a few times though ;)

Our next vehicle will be an Enclave. Wife loves them. They have a 3rd row if you need it.

... of course, we don't have kids :busted:

Could always go the Suburban route, but they're huge and guzzle gas. That's how my brother rolls with his 5 kids.

My wife has a Ford Escape. It's small, but we just have the 1 kid. I'm sure we will get a larger SUV eventually.

Don't think my wife would ever want a minivan.

Seriously? What's wrong with a van? They get great mileage, have every option anyone would want, are safe, can haul stuff, and are comfortable when hauling passengers. Why not a van? Gotta impress your buds?
