Or the one at the crossroads mall in St Cloud MN, the knife attack was stopped by an off duty officer carrying his handgun.
Not sure if you don't want to get it. My point is if the US took away all guns from the public, the US would still be a world leader in violent deaths. Rather than a gun used in the attack another lethal weapon would be used, like a knife used to stab. Get it now?
Lots of good conservatives killing each other every single day in Chicago with guns. Wait......what?? Isn't there some fairly strict gun control there? Chicago is a hotbed for country music, right? That city is extremely progressive, I'm sure they are doing something about it with legislation. Right?
2,892 people shot in Chicago so far THIS year alone. 497 dead by guns. Where is the moral outrage? Why do strict laws not prevent this?
The sobering reality is that you cannot legislate against evil. They will find a way. They have proven that over and over. Take the guns away and they will use a bomb, take that bomb away and they will use a vehicle, take the vehicle away and they will use a plane. Timothy McVeigh killed 168 people with an explosion. 2996 people killed when terrorists flew airplanes into the WTC, Pentagon. Jim Jones convinced 912 people to drink the Kool-Aid 45 people, mostly children killed by a dynamite explosion at a school in 1927 87 people killed by nothing more that a match and some gasoline at a club in 1990 These are just some of the example of Americans killed by evil people doing evil things. The list goes on and on. Evil will find a way, regardless of any legislation or attempt to prevent it. The gun is an easy target for the politically correct, but the reality is other forms of terror are just as if not more effective at doing evil then a gun ever will be.
Has anyone seen the latest CNN footage showing muzzle blast on the 12 floor not the 32nd? I have thought all along that this deal just didn't add up. Sorry for the interruption--- carry on!
Talking about knives when 58 are dead and 400 + injured is well, dumb. Because this incident does not happen with knives, get my point. Like I said we all(me included) tolerated kids getting killed and nothing changed, nothing will change. Please show me a knife attack by 1 man(if this was one man) where more than 58 were killed.
So if the guy had taken one of his 2 planes and crashed into the same crowd he would have killed more than 58, would you be calling for all private planes to be grounded?
I have called for nothing to be ban,FYI By the way the last time that happen with planes, we made changes. Don't worry nothing will change, I know and you know it.
There is so much blame and finger pointing but never any action, from anyone. We simply just need to continue on with our lives and continue to accept the fact that these terroristic events will continue to happen (which is sickening to actually think about).
Short of taking guns. What change would prevent shootings like this? I always hear people say "common sense" gun control. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I can't envision any gun laws that would've prevented this sort of evil. You have a nut, who broke hundreds of laws by the very act. If someone is that hell bent on evil they will find a way. Also, fwiw, the global terrorism database is publicly available. If you were to spend a few few minutes analyzing it, you'll find that terrorists generally eschew guns (or knives) as they are (generally) not the most efficient weapons for scale mayhem. This particular nut would have to have taken a good bit of planning (position, event, gear, training, setup, etc) based solely on what has been disclosed. Even if he couldn't secure the guns/ammo, it would seem that he still could've easily rendered similar havoc and mayhem. Feel free to discuss gun control though, but it's just the same old play of piling on the crisis du jour.
That's because gun control is nonsense. It doesn't work. You are right though, nothing will change other than maybe procedures and security there to respond quicker. But that's all that can be done. Murder is already illegal regardless of the weapon or method used to kill. You can't legislate the riddance of evil, plain and simple. Anyone who thinks a law can stop crime is a complete moron. Laws only provide "justice" or penalty, there's no such thing as prevention. Look in other countries, most terrorist attacks anymore are people driving trucks into crowds or using a knife or machete and hacking people up in a heavily populated area like a train station.
Moonshine is illegal but somehow I want it and I find a way to get it and I use it as my intentions are aimed.....Hiccup. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Removed the Image to save page space. sometimes I really wish I could reach through a computer and slap the **** out of people like that.
Holy ****... There are actually people out there who actually believe that too. I've noticed the last few days while talking to friends and coworkers. I made a comment of "Hey, maybe it should be harder for someone to be able to shoot 500 people at once." The people I was talking to first instinct was to argue with me. Why? I said nothing about banning guns, increasing security, or ANYTHING. Why does this happen? They argued about the fact that I wish there was a way to make it harder for 500 people to be shot. Some real assholes in the world right now.
