So my best friend and hunting parters wife is a vegan. Usually I don't care for vegans, because we don't agree on a lot of things. But my friends wife is the coolest vegan I have ever come across. If she can't kill it she wont eat it, so she doesn't eat meat. That makes sense to me. But she has no judgement what so ever for people that do eat meat. She loves that her husband hunts because he is providing his own meat.

That being said the third guy that we hunt with is always trying to get her to read this article, or this book about how meat it good for you, or how raising your own meat is great! Now she listens politely, but I always want to tell the guy to shove it, why bug her about it, she doesn't give you a hard time for eating it just doesn't choose to herself.

Anyon else had any good experiences with a vegan? I know for sure there are some stories about bad experiences.

I feel like this is the first story I have ever heard where the Vegan wasn't pushing it on someone else.

I also have a friend with a vegan wife, she understands that hunters are way different than corporate slaughter houses for the most part.
I always have to give her a hard time though, she made my friend and their dogs Vegan....:violin:

First rule of Vegan Club... Tell everybody about Vegan Club.

    ;)

The third guy might just be genuinely concerned for her health. This is a bit of evidence that being vegan is unhealthy... But if you feel you should tell the guy to lay off a bit, then go ahead. I would expect her husband to say something to the guy if he was getting under her skin.

I know a couple of vegetarians, one is a dear friend of mine. She is constantly battling fractures and chronic conditions that I believe are exacerbated by her meat free diet... but I have never mentioned it to her.

I know one Vegan. She was always a bit unstable but she went right off the charts after she went full vegan. :(

I know several vegans and/or vegetarians. None of them try to push their agenda on anyone else as long as you respect their viewpoints.

I know several on the dark side too, they're ok just as long as they don't keep making it a point to tell me they are vegan. As mentioned above, more meat for me :)

Side note: Forgot to mention that she recently added eggs into her diet to increase protien. She does get her eggs from a friend with chickens instead of store bought.

Some of my favorite foods are vegan! (Vegan Venison, Vegan Beef, Vegan Pork, but not chicken because chickens eat bugs which disqualifies them from the vegan menu)

My niece is vegan and never says a derogatory word about normal people.

My best friend from back home his parents own a really successful vegetarian business. I had thanksgiving there one year and it was delicious. Being from the northwest I have a lot of vegetarian friends. I tease them for it but never in malice. I even tease my gay friends sometimes too. None of them try to press their views onto anyone else. I've started deleting people off my Facebook who do that. Not worth the headache they cause. Freaking idiots anyways.

I don't think its actually as healthy as they say it is.. Humans weren't made to only eat fruits and vegetables. We don't have the necessary bacteria in our digestive systems to break down that much "rabbit food".

My high school physics teacher was a vegan but he actually supported hunting. He thought that the animals lived better lives then most live stock. It didn't hurt that his wife was from Montana and her parents only ate meat that they shot.

It's everything in moderation to me. All these extreme diets, geez, whats the point. When there are groups of vegans consistently reaching 130 years of age, then maybe ill believe it is healthier, but by that time ill be dead anyways. And whats the point of living that long???? My god.

I don't understand that at all, but then again I have never looked into other religions very deep.

They venerate cows. So India is partially overrun with cows. Cows also poop anywhere and they also contribute a huge amount of ch4 to the atmosphere.

But yea why the cow? No idea.
