Soo i seem to have this problem with every bow ive owned (3). Am i the problem or is it just how the bows are, i have a hoyt nitrum, its not a big deal because i just point my odd color fletching out instead of up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Since you are shooting the QAD the cock vane really does not have to point up or directly out. You can adjust the nock so that you get the best clearance.
Make sure you're setting the bow to the correct centershot. I've never run into issues on small diameter hunting arrows Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Shooting blazer vanes? Happens on all of mine if i tried odd up. I switched to 3", I'm not using a WB so I prefer better steering than the durability that blazers offer.
If I had blazer vanes I would definitely have contact and I don't like having the odd vane out because of the way I anchor. I have four 3" super spine vanes and they clear without a problem and since I have four of them it gives my arrows extra stability. So far with my setup I'm more accurate then I've ever been.
Im shooting blazer vanes, im probably gonna get back into fletching my own arrows i might have to try that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had this problem one time...my vane was rubbing the cable....but I figured out it was because I put too much torque on it....so I fixed my form and it helped a lot
If you do go with a 90° four fletch the 3" super spines are good for expandable broadheads. If you shoot fixed heads the 2.88" swift vanes are the way to go. A tip I got from Tim Gillingham. I should mention that the brand is VaneTec.
Whats a good jig, i had like a bohning helix but its old and im not sure where at Hoyt nitrum 34 70# at 31" QAD ultra rest AXT single pin driver Illusion wildlife flashlight stabilizer 340g easton FMJs Dead ringer executioner broadheads
The shop I go to uses a bitzenburger fletching jig. I don't fletch my own arrows yet but I want to some day.
