The vanes on my arrows seem to be hitting my non moving buss cable. Maybe hitting is not the right word, more like grazing maybe. Is this normal? This is with my nock turned so the cock vane faces down if you get what I am saying. I shoot withn an older style 2 prong arrow rest.

If the bar won't adjust that the cables and slide rest on you should be able to get a thicker cable slide pretty cheap to push your cables out farther so your vanes will clear.

The cables and the slide are on the same side as the arrow so seems like if the slide were thicker and the cables were pushed out further they would be even more in the way wouldn't they.

I just have an old (2006) Fred Bear TRX 400. Was an exclusive model for Gander Mountain.

What kind of vanes do you have? Blazers will often hit, whereas 4" vanes will not. It will also dramatically affect broad head flight. Usually with field points you only notice a little flight wobble here and there. I was using a drop away so I simply turned my nock so it wouldn't hit when passing, but you can't really do that with a 2-prong rest. I would say bring it to the shop as your rest may have shifted.

I'm shooting 4 inch vanes that I plan on changing to blazers if I can ever find my fetching jig. Just because that seems to be what everyone uses these days and I have never shot them. Maybe I should stick with 4 inch vanes if clearance is worse with blazers. I have Fletcher my carbon arrows with fetching before so that anything they may hit doesn't affect the arrowflight as much and I really kind of liked them, actually I liked them a lot. I generally do all my setup and don't use shops unless I just absolutely have to, just because I like to do everything everything myself.

Yes depending on which side the cables are on
you can try a thicker or thinner slide to pull them in or push them out. sorry guys i should have been more clear on my earlier post.

Unfortunately some vane/rest/bow combinations don't play all that well together.... If everything is in tune and spec the main options in my mind are either try a different rest (like a drop away) where you can play with your vane orientation to see if you can clear it that way - or try a low profile vane that doesn't stick out as much as the blazers...

Could I possibly flip the slide to the other side of the slide bar or whatever it's called? Don't know if that's cool to do but it seems like it would definitely get them out of the way of my vanes. May try it when I get home from work tonight.

You can try it. If the slide bar can be adjusted that will make it easier. if the bar has an angle on it then you may have to rotate it a little and then use the proper slide for the correct clearance but deffinitely keep the slide on there. If its a fixed bar
then you may have to take it to a shop if you don't have a press and route the ables on the opposite side. you should be able to keep it pretty close to factory and get your clearance to.
