Hmmm just had an interesting call from a Head-Hunter. He wants to submit me for a position in Vancouver.

He says the cost of living is quite high, it rains a lot and it never get's too awful cold or too hot.

What else can you tell me, besides the fact it looks like a Sportsmans Paradise ??

Though I have never been there, Vancouver is near the top of my list to visit soon. Not so much for the hunting, but for the sheer beauty.

As for living there, I would believe that the cost of living would be very high. The cost of living in Canada alone is much higher than it is here and with the weak US dollar, even higher.

I would be curious as to how you would be allowed to work up there. From my experience, its very difficult to get a work permit....and I own the business.

I took off on an Alaskan cruise from there a couple of years ago. Flew out a few days early to spend a little time there. Lets just say that Vancouver is Canada's San Francisco if you know what I mean. We got lost on a walk and ended up in the middle of what they proudly call the Gaybourhood. Not really a comfortable place for a conservative midwest family. lol.

Vancouver is one of my favorite cities. Mild climate, lots of outdoor recreation, attractive women, fine beers, awesome dining, great culture... if it wasn't in a socialist country I'd move there myself.

    Dang, Rob... sounds pretty good.

And since we're only a wee bit from turning ourselves into a socialist country, sounds like it may be the place to be! :D

Vancouver is a pretty nice city. It is one of the more expensive places to live in Canada, right up there with Toronto. With it being in British Columbia there is a higher tax rate than we pay in Alberta. There is a fair bit of things to do around there, but the city as a whole is a very busy place and full of tourists. I have been there several times and have always had fun, but the big city isn't my type of place to be. If you can live a little more on the outskirts than it might not be too bad. The scenery is very nice there (landscape and women).

Probably the most beautiful city in the the NW!

I love it! The times Ive been there I have really enjoyed it. The airport is the BEST to go through customs!

Heavy Chinese population. Lots immigrated when Hong Kong went commie.

    BC is a hunters paradise!

If you dont want that job i'll take it! Want my resume?

Thanks guys...Just wanted to get a feel for the area. It's someplace I never truly considered.

It does look awesome as far as the city is concerned. Anyhow they are just feeling me out, it's a long way from an offer.
