A waterfront lake home on Lake Taneycomo near Branson, MO. Why, because I can be there in about 4 hours so I would be able to use it pretty often. It has the only self sustaining population on brown and rainbow trout in the state of Missouri and holds the world record brown trout. I say holds because they electro-shocked one that would break the standing world record. Taneycomo is the best of both worlds, it can be a smooth water lake at times, and converts to a river with a good current when they are running the hydroelectric generators. It's quite and serene, you don't get all the "lake traffic" like on other surrounding lakes. If your on Taneycomo, your most likely just trout fishing. One of my favorite places on earth.
This is kind of my situation. I own a resort in NW Ontario and lived there for 9 years. I can go there any time I please. We also own a cabin on a lake in NW Wisconsin and visit there often. Where we live in WI is also on the border of north woods vacation land. Personally, I have all the opportunities already to enjoy the north woods life and want something different. As of now, I would love to have a place on Elbow Cay in the Bahamas.
I really don't know. I think no matter where I picked, no matter how awesome it would be, I wouldn't ALWAYS want to go there, or feel like I had to go there. It would seem after a time or 2 I would be limiting myself from seeing other really cool places.
Northwest Arkansas is one of the prettiest places I've ever been/lived. Can't hardly beat the Ozarks. That being said cabin in CO would be tough to beat as far as a dream vacation place.
After just returning from our cruise last week, and having visited several different islands throughout the Carribean, we still love the Bahamas the most. Half Moon Cay was awesome.
Bahama's or florida keys. something tropic. The only time I've ever felt at total ease was when I was in Playa-del-Carmen, mexico. not a care in the world, just the tropic water...tequila, and the wifey!
Somewhere in Colorado. My wife and I both love the mountains and would both love to have a house somewhere out there.
For those answering the tropics. Why not move there? Lol Not being cynical either, why not move to the place you dream of and take up your occupation there? My answer is Alaska but since he said eliminate hunting I chose Colorado. To put it simply, I WILL live in one of these two states shortly. Likely not forever, but atleast to get my fill of them!
I'd like some place my wife would love....maybe the Outer Banks, NC, or somewhere a little further south. As for me, I would love some mountainous vacation property with easy access to a nice river or large lake.
