I have 2-3 days I can take off in late October into November. I am hunting Northwestern Wisconsin for the first time this year and was curious what you guys thought would be some ideal dates. It's already getting pretty cold around the area and this will be the first year I spend time in the stand during the rut up there. The orange army comes out November 18th and I try to avoid them like the plague. Thanks
If you don't have to schedule them off right away. I would wait until you here the rut is in full swing. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Agree with Dogfish. See if you're boss will let you take a couple short notice days when you have a better idea what the weather will be like. Maybe a day or two in advance on notice.
I'm going to Hunt every possible chance I get from the last weekend in October to the weekend before gun season. And honestly any days you take off during that few weeks should be good. In my opinion Nov 3rd to the 10th are the days I'd take off if I had a full week to do it.
I took the week of Nov 5th off. Things are usually going well then and it's the last full week before the guns come out here in IL.
For me it would depend on what kinda of notice I had to give the boss. The less the better. At least a week would be good, then watch the weather closely and plan which days to take off. That's what I did when I was new on the job and didn't have much time off. Now I get 3 weeks soon to be 4 so I'm able to take 2 full weeks off to cover the rut anytime it hits pretty much.
I am off November 3rd-13th. Not sure how much hunting I will do, my parents are coming into town the 3rd-10th to meet their new grandson. But my dad wants to get out at least one time each with my older boys. So at least two hunts during that time and may a few during the couple days before returning to work. Last year, I killed my buck on the 12th.
MN's gun opener is on Nov 4th-I know, early, wish it was like WI's; i'm going to try to take a day or 2 off starting next week, along with the weekends. this coming weekend there will be a higher amount of people walking the woods for MEA and setting up for the gun season
I'd take each of the next three Fridays off if you can manage it. Otherwise there is always early December.
This year I'm taking off Oct.27 - Nov.5 a week before our season ends here. Tried the last week of the season last year and saw very little cruising. What I did see though were bucks locked down with does. Trail cam pics from the last three years show my most buck activity during the day light hours where around Halloween till the first couple of days in Nov. Best of luck!
This Friday, then October 27th to November 10th, November 17th to the 27th. I put my time in months in advance my boss likes to hunt but not as much as me. Hope you get the days off you want. Good luck Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’m going on a trip a little north the first weekend of November (3-5). Then I’ll be hard at it again from Nov (10-20). I still have a couple chores to do in there too but nothing major Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
