Today, I finally got a response from my doctor at the VA hospital and got in to see him after 5 days of calling. 5 hours later I was on my way home after a chest xray, blood tests and him listening to my heart and lungs. When he told me that I should have gone and seen him earlier....after counting to 10, I explained I had been calling all week. He have me a dose of antibiotics, steroids, and some liquid cough syrup that has the equivalent of 3 hydrocodone tablets in each tablespoon. Got a sneaking suspicion that I am going to be in la-la land very very soon.Which is very cool because in the past week I've probably had a total of 15 hours sleep.
dam....sorry bro, hope your feelin better soon. it drives me up the wall how backed up the VA hospitals are...it should be better for us. but then again, didn't we think we deserved better chow after being out in the field for how long? LOL!!
When I was in the army way back when, we had a cook in our unit that could use field rations and turn out fine dining. He kept getting article 15's for adding seasoning to the meals but didn't care.
Unfortunate to see how backed up the VA is, I don't think I would have been able to hold it in like you did when the Doc said you should have come to see him sooner....
