I would be very surprised to see them drop the 15". They have had that for as long as I can remember.

    What was your source?

    Mine came to:

    825 miles @ 12 hr 27 min per google
Figured about the same number $1000. That'll put me at $1900 (VA License & Land Leases right around $900) for the season with no equipment upgrades yet or other expenses. Better get started on my Honey-do list now:)

Im at 459 miles, and 7 hrs. 45 mins to HH.

Is Ohio completely out of the equation? Zaleski State Forest? Wayne?

Im at 715 miles to HH.

I ain't driving that far and long. Not to be a party pooper.

Lets try to state north eastern near the Ohio river like Gri22ly suggested or maybe even think about other states if most of us are going to be driving 8-10 hours on average. Any other thoughts on states?

I don't care if we hunt a large forest in TN, KY, WV, Ohio---I as long as we have a few of us have a shot at killing something and sharing the meat/friendship over the five days that is good enough for me. I like challenges.

If its to long of a drive one way we can always get a noter group together. I know going that way would be to far for me so if anyone is willing to hunt a little father west im in.

You start getting over that 6-7 hour mark and the trip at least for me gets brutal. Heck, I'd even hunt in the massive Jefferson National Forest in VA or the Cherokee National Forest where it ties into TN/NC/VA.

Even here in MD 7,000+ ac bow only. 15 mi down the rd 9,000 + ac bow only. Put your self in the right spot boom. Close camping would be an issue I believe though

    Other Options:

    Shawnee State Forest Ohio: 63,747ac
    http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/shawnee/tabid/788/Default.aspx

    Wayne National Forest Ohio: 200,000+ac
    http://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/wayne/recreation/hunting

AEP Connesville Coal Company: 60,000+ac Looks interesting ... they have "primitive deer camp sites" it is also borders between two of the top counties for deer harvest. Ill read more into it.

Some of my wife’s family is in Ohio. I have heard good things about Wayne NF. Last season I was looking at a trip to Tar Hollow and some of the state forests in that area, but I just couldn't find time to get there. The terrain in SE Ohio is hilly. A mix of crop fields and hardwood ridges..

Well I surely can't create something like that on my own so here you go:

    http://www.nssf.org/events/view.cfm?SEQ=8235

Don't have any idea if this is a good source or a bad source by I certainly do "think before I speak". The way it reads is this might actually be a propsed change rather than an actual change that had been made.

    Toward the bottom.

That is a pretty good source:D but yes, it is proposed so it may or may not pass. I imagine when the locals get wind of this, they will fight it so only time will tell.

I wasn't trying to make it sound like you were making something up. I was sure you had a source, that's why I asked. Just thought it might have been a good old boy down at buds corner.
