Virginia is introducing the "Earn-a-buck" program in certain counties starting this season. In the past, I was always thankful that Virginia didn't have this sort of thing but now I'm glad they are establishing it. Some counties have been needing this for a while. It just so happens that two counties I hunt are now earn-a-buck counties.

I gotta change my game plan a little this fall...well....I just have to get a doe on the season opener. ;)

For those who have earn-a-buck counties/states, do you like it? Dislike?

Ducsauce congrats on having a DNR with the balls to do the right thing. The more they manage to the deer, the better we will have it in the future. Is everything ok? Is VA still there?

I think that for areas that need it, it is a great way to make sure that sportsmen help manage the herd as it needs to be done.

Yep, Va is still on the map and I'm doing great! Been busy as hell lately.

Rob, if Va's well-being depends on your visitation...then it might be better if you stayed in PA. ;)

yea, have had it here in wisconsin for several yrs. just wait till the big boy walks by & you don't have a doe in your pocket yet. then you'll think that rule sux! if you get busted with having possession of a buck w/o a doe tag, the dnr takes the deer & gives you a souvenir that'll cost u several hundred dollars! nice isn't it?
