I've been invited up to my buddy's lease in VA next week. I hunted there with him in 2007 (he was ML hunting and I was bowhunting the late ML season), but I can't remember how much I paid (don't have a clue) for my OOS lic..

    'Lil help?

I haven't decided whether I'll bowhunt, rifle hunt or ML hunt.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

LOL...I was just remembering my last bowhunt, there. 12deg. and the wind was blowing the snow sideways. I walked all the way to my stand with my bow in one hand and a Kimber .45 in the other.

The weekend before I got there, the guys were grilling a pork tenderloin on the grill and "something" stole it....right off the grill on the front porch!

(I think I just decided to gun hunt)

Thanks, FM. If I look at the site, correctly.....it'll cost me $152 for the annual out of state....IF I only rifle hunt. $31 more to get the archery + $31 more to get the ML tag. Ya'll make it advantageous to sling lead, huh?...lol

Next week is gun season, so I'm pretty sure you will only need a regular license. Even if you use a m/l or bow, those designated early seasons will be done and general firearms season is in. I'm almost 100% sure you can use a bow or gun or m/l your choice, no addl licenses required. Double check on the VA DGIF website just to be sure.

Also, I know they used to have a 3 day license....not sure if they do anymore. If you are only coming for one trip, that might save you some money if its still available.

Yes, I emailed the DNR about that, If it's during General Firearms you can use Bow, Muzzleloader, or Rifle with no additional license.

Jeff, if you get your license, I've got a tree with your name on it. :)

And your correct on your pricing. 3 day only would save you $40.

Thanks, Aaron (and everyone). I'm paying the extra $40, so we can hunt up there one day (just in case!).
