Well got to my climber at zero dark thirty this morning and while trying to unlock my climber I broke the key in the lock. Well that was shot headed over to my lock on and got settled in. 1st time sitting this stand as it is a great late season stand. I hear something behind me right around 0700 and turn around to see a buck at 25yds. I could tell he was nice and better then the smaller bucks I have been passing up on. I had to let him circle around me so I could make a clean shot. He was heading south and the wind was in my favor. I let an arrow fly with him at 16 yds not more then 2 minutes after seeing him. I hit him farther back then what I wanted so I was anxious to check the arrow. Lots of blood with chunks of liver. I shot him with a killzone so eager to see the exit hole. and the damage it did. So about 0720 I am down looking for the arrow. To my surprise I found this before the arrow. So at this point I am like ok decent shot lots of blood, def a dead buck. Here are some more pics within about 15 yards of the shot. At this point I see lots of blood and I am gathering my gear and getting ready to pick up the trail. Its been just about an hr at this point and I am hot on the trail. He went about 80 yards. Bedded down and died. Had to drag him out to an open area to take some pics once I went and got my hunting buddy. What a great hunt this morning
Thanks guys. It was a great hunt like the way they all are when you see lots of deer and connect with a nice buck.
