Can I Use mounted deer for rattle?

So I've always wanted to try rattling. My family and I don't have much spare money at all. But I do have a 120 inch mounted deer that doesn't matter to me anymore. Would it work to take the antlers off? Or is going that far even worth it? I have no clue if rattling really works. Does it? And if so how do I go about taking the antlers off without a saw? I don't have one....

I waited until I found sheds before I had a set of rattling antlers. From what I understand it's all about when in the rut you will be hunting so I would wait and figure that out before you cut up the mount.

Send me your address and I will send you a rattle bag I have laying around. I use sheds so it's not being used.
