I am looking at buying a used bow, how do I know what its worth? There are used car guides, used firearm guides, are there any for archery? I'm not trying to get a great deal just a fair price. How do you determine the price of your used archery stuff when you sell it?
Honestly? Watch classifieds (particularly on AT). Do a search over there for the bow in question and see what past sale prices have been. What bow are you looking at and what's the price if you don't mind me asking?
I am looking at getting a 2009 BowTech Admiral. There are several out there used and Im not sure what I should pay for one.
A fair price depends on condition of the Bow and what the market will bear. Like was mentioned do a search and see what they've been selling for. Dan
I understand that there is variables to determining a price. I was just wondering if guys used a guideline like, 50% of new price, 75%, something like that.
I used to deal paintball guns. The price varied so much, you basically had to take what you could for a used gun. I had an 08 PE gun that sold new for $1200, that priced dropped to under $1000 upon buying it, and around $850 soon as you used it. Then soon as the 09 models came out, that 08 dropped to sub $600. Then with in a month of the 09's comming out, the 08 prices rebounded back up to the $800 range. So...basically, it's a crap shoot. You might find some one trying to get rid of a bow and willing to sell it cheap. Or find some one trying to hose you for as much as they can. I kinda doubt you will find a consistant range of prices. Check Ebay...i bought my bow close to 60% percent off of new, and it was just a year old model, still new in box. Anyway...good luck!
