Not many golf fans here, but the second best event on tour IMO starts today. The US Open at Pebble Beach. Should be a really good championship. The course is going to play brutal. There's already grumblings about the greens and how fast and dry they are. Awesome golf course for a great event. Should be a fun sunday to watch. I think tiger has about a 10% chance of making the cut. He has no clue where it's going off the tee. The only reason he may make the cut is because..... well.... he pulled off the single greatest accomplishment anyone will ever see in golf when he won an open there by 15 shots!! I still can't even comprehend that. That was then... this is now. His game is not very good at the moment. Would love to see lefty pull it off. Watch out for Dustin Johnson as a dark horse.

I am looking at lee westwood or Erine Els.

I am a lefty fan, but he has become Mr. Second place at the open.

Yep I agree. For some reason he likes to bounce drives off beer tents coming down the stretch. However the course is playing short and the winner is going to be the guy that has the best short game around those greens this week (aka..... Phil)

If the coverage runs over and I want to watch what ever is after the golf, well then I'll watch it. I do enjoy the last couple or three holes when it's all on the line.

I'm watching as I type. The changes on the course don't favor a Tiger. Fortunately for him the rough is shorter than most US Opens. I'd like to see Lefty do it... but maybe with Tiger struggling this is the year for a European to finally win the thing. I don't think Westwood can hold it together for 4 days. However, I'm the guy that didn't watch the last hole last week because I thought the tournament was over. LOL Lefty is 4 over. I figure he's toast at this point.

Lot of golf to play. I don't think anybody after day one is out of it. He's actually hitting it pretty good. Just can't make a putt to save his life. Only time he's been in trouble was just poor decisions.

Lol am I missing something? Everyone is saying he's done (not just here). The dude is 5 shots back at a US freaking open on day ONE lmao! That could litterally change in a hole. Not saying he's going to right the ship and win the thing, but dang...... within 5 after his first round? That actually wouldn't be that bad of a position on sunday.

Phil is far from out of it. This is the US Open. A small percentage of the field actually has a chance to win. Phil's in that group that CAN.

PLENTY of the guys in front of him are gonna spew oil, tomorrow. He may, too. But history tells us that isn't likely. The rest????? Watch and see. My bet is more guys ahead of Phil go backwards than forwards in round 2.

War of attrition. Time is on Phil's side.

    So far, I'm psychic.

Lefty's back to even for the Championship. Oil is being spewed, ahead.

4 players ahead of him, after 6 (Phil).

With one hole to play in the second round Lefty has made the big come back. He's 5 under in round 2 and two strokes back. My toast remark may have been a little premature. LOL He has the 18th to play. Go get 'em Phil. OPS.... just duck hooked one onto a finger in a fairway bunker. He does make it interesting. LOL

Not a bad round for a guy who was deemed "out of it" after round one. These analyst really kill me. Burying him a day ago and giving him the trophy today lmao. It's still only halftime. Lot of interesting golf to go. Tigers swing actually looks better this week. I still don't like him to be a factor though. He's disgusted with the greens and looks like he just won't figure them out this week.

I don't know that the experts said Phil was dead. I think it was me. LOL I know nothing so you shouldn't take what I saw as fact. LOL Tigers attitude sucks. Plain and simple... his mind is out of it. Almost every shot he's in drama land.

Hey NYbowhunter.... what makes those greens look so splotchy. Is it Poa annua
or my TV. I mean they look UGLY. Is it the short cut and dying grass or weed problems.

It would appear that my analysis of Tiger not being into the game.... may have been in error. The boy(excuse me for saying boy) is on fire. Pulling shots out of his butt, no crying or complaining... he's just playing some great golf right now. It's great to see the greatest getting back his groove. He may not win.... but he's finding his swagger again at this point. He needs to get off this selective playing and play more tournaments. Every day he does a little better. Now if he takes a month off or whatever..... well hell, he's starting all over again. Good stuff. Great golf and lots of whatifs.
