So found a refurbished direct from Canon T3i for about what I was gonna spend on a entry level kit T3....so I jumped on it and will just buy lenses later. Freaking pumped because the T3i has higher megapixels, resolution on video and much more capabilities for fine tuning that the T3 just didn't....will probably have questions for you "pro's" in the coming weeks once it comes in.

Sweet, Im sure you will like it. I was going to recommend you getting that one in the other thread but saw someone already did that. You will be taking pictures and videos of everything. Im going to purchase the 60D here pretty soon and I can't wait actually have my own camera to mess with.

So I have heard Fitz...if for no other reason than the built in sensor cleaner and the better video quality. Cannot wait.....I will be that guy with the big camera everywhere he goes for awhile bahaha!

Nothing wrong with taking with. If you don't have it how can you get the pictures? That one time you don't take it is when you wish you did.

Did you decide on a lens yet?

FIL has a couple for his T1i I will borrow until I decide but probably gonna pick up one on the cheap and then save up for a above average (not amazing but not junk) telephoto zoom one in the 100-300mm range probably.

One cheap one I thought about grabbing in the meantime is this one:
    Amazon.com : Canon EF 35-80mm f/4-5.6 III Lens : Camera Lenses : Camera & Photo

You bought an excellent camera! I have the same one and absolutely love it. The only thing I wish it had is auto focus in video mode. Other then that, no complaints.

I had the understanding it does...just like the Rebel T1i I borrow from father-in-law. On the T1i it is a button on the back of the camera...believe an asterick.....will research some more. That does suck if not present on the T3i but I can live with it.

I had thought that as well Fitz.....saw a freaking commercial for the T5i and drooled the entire time. Wife looked over and said "NO" before I even got anything out of my mouth. Yet to receive the T3i in the mail and already looking ahead.

It's crazy. I was already saving up for the T5i when I decided to sell my Jeep. Just so happens I could then afford to get the 70D.

If someone has a spot I'd like to know as well. Lens's don't loose much value once used. I've been searching for months and you just don't seem to save much money to make it worth not buying the new one.

Exactly and dang the cheapest ones I'm finding I would want are still in the $100 range honestly. Probably have to bite the bullet on one this year and simply save up for a while to get a 100-300mm one due to cost.
