I've been thinking of doing this of a long time; in fact, some of you may remember a long time ago when I asked for ideas/pics of people who'd built such a contraption as I was envisioning. I remember specifically a nice example posted by Rick James...

Anyway, I got a little Bloodcrick in my veins over the past couple days and finally tackled my project. I'm sure the neighbors are glad I finally got off my butt and got to it! :D I'm hoping it greatly extends my target life as well as looking a lot better.

That's a sweet set up and I can tell by the backdrop you are also a very confident shooter...lol. I'd hate to punch one off target into that stuff.

    Looks good.

LOL I have envisioned doing something very similar but I am still at the "old and busted" stage.

    Looks awesome, definitely "new hotness"!

Greg....you inspire me in countless ways. :)

What was the total cost of that project?

    Looks nice Greg :)

You could build something similar for less than $50 (minus the target).

LOL Matt... yeah, they're sunk two and a half foot down with at least a foot of concrete at the bottom and then I covered that with dirt. :)

Underneath the front of the roof I've got a wedge-shaped 2x4 I ripped and nailed up inside there with a battery-operated 12" fluorescent light angled on it that'll shine down onto the bag when I flip the switch in case I ever want to shoot beyond dusk!

Crap, Trevor... shoulda thought of that. Took them all off to one of the local dumpsters; I was just all too happy to get rid of the crap. :)

Finch, it was two 2x4s, one 4x4 and one sheet of plywood plus a bag of concrete. The shingles are leftovers from my house so they actually match, and I stained it with the same stain I had left over from my deck... so, gosh -- $15 - 20? Something like that?

Nice Greg but here's where you went wrong LOL.

A buddy of mine built a raised play house for his kids that doubles as a target holder just like yours. Call it a Redneck gift. :D

    Nice!

    No... HE wasn't thinking, LOL!

I've got the big wooden jungle gym thing on my second extra lot over from the house ... the boys and all their friends can play on it all they want and not interfere with my shooting!

I think I have enough scrap laying around to build one myself. Been wanting to for a while but just needed some motivation to do so. Thanks for that!:p

The first pic looks like about what I'm shooting at right now. Maybe next year I'll upgrade.
