Anyone have interest this year? I'm thinking if Justin will give us the forum space to run this thing, I'd be willing to manage and run the first www.bowhunting.com league this year. If there are enough guys here to justify starting it, I bet I can recruit enough others to get a decent number of us participating.

I was thinking of something along the lines of an 8 week Vegas 450 league starting the week of January 4th. 45 arrows is a bit shorter than the 5 spot leagues for those of you pressed for time, and I've heard from some of you in the past that 60 was a bit too much of a time committment. We could also do 30 arrow games if you guys want instead.

    Anyone here interested? Any thoughts/questions/feedback?

Sounds like a blast Matt, but unfortunately I won't be able to do it again this year. Sport Shows for camp keep me on the road too much in the early winter.

I would contemplate it...but Jan 4 is out of the question. I am not used to actually shooting deer, so now I am down to 3 arrows. Plus I don't have anywhere to do it. I remember doing the 5 spot on HNI and I was shooting in -10 degree weather with 20 mph winds. That just didn't compare to the guys shooting inside and only having to worry about the hot air that other shooters are blowing!! And if buckeye is doing it, I might as well bow out and call him King Buckeye!! I know he can shoot better then me...I won't deny that!

If you guys want to do this, but that's too soon I'm fine with that.

Also IL_Bow_Man, you only need 3 arrows for Vegas targets.......it's the type of target in my avatar.

When is a better timeframe for you guys to start this?

We can definitely set something up if you guys want. I'm in for sure. I need to start shooting more anyways. As for the date - whatever works for everyone else is perfectly OK with me.

how does it work????? im guessing we all shoot indi and then either take pics of our targets or just report scores to a data based page and go from there????? great idea!

I'm down but Jan. 4 is too early for me too. Deer season ends the 15th and then I have to switch over to another arrow. Can everyone shoot for the middle to end of January?

I would be up for it, but Jan.4 is also too early for me. I have my bow torn down, and I'm starting from scratch re-tuning it, and possibly going with new vanes and/or shafts, yet.

Guys, if we plan to start on 1/18 does that work for everyone? What about 1/25?

Once we pick a specific date we can start an official signup thread, and I'll start recruiting people for this.

Anyone here have a preferance for 30 or 45 arrows?

Either date should be good for me. I will be shooting outside, and with the temps we've been having 45 sure would be nicer:d

I would like to Matt. I was given a like new older Hoyt target bow, picked me up one of them fancy center drilled scopes, and am calling Jim Posten Monday about making me up a new stabilizer and set of V bars.

My problem is I have no where to shoot!
Last time we did this I shot one score outside beside the house on a real nice day, and drove 70 miles on bad roads to shoot 2 scores at a real indoor range. (this winter has been much worse than last) The rest of my scores were shot in a friends heated shop that got foreclosed on, so I dont have that option this year.

Only way I can play is if you and the guys (and Gals if we have any) let me scale the targets down to half size and shoot from 12 yards inside my house.

Hay it wont hurt my feelings if they say no, I will be shooting in the house at 12 yards all winter reguardless, trying to get ready for the Great Lakes Indoor Sectional the 21 and 22 of February.

I wouldn't mind it..... But "momma" would have my ass if I spent the coin for a whole new setup with the baby coming and all....

I have zero interest in shooting open class on foam, but would like to mess around with it on paper.

    Bump.

Unless someone here says otherwise, I'm going to pick a start date of 1/25. That should give me about 30 days to recruit some people, and get things sorted with this.

1/25 start date works for me. It'll give me some time to get switched back over from my hunting setup and run a few arrows through the bow.

Let me know what you think most people will need for basic targets and I'll see if I can get them up in the shop. :tu:
