Well, Grandma is ok but there is a TON of damage to Streator. So far between the whole area of tornado's there is 6 lives that have been taken and many more people missing. Grandma had some minor stuff but 4 blocks of her house was a TOTAL mess! They would not let anyone go close due to gas leaks and electrical issues. Here are some pictures from the edge of the major damage!

Glad to hear your grandma's ok. Prayers sent to the families that lost loves ones. I lived through one back in 96. We where lucky, my dad brother and I where at home and didn't make it to the basement and I looked back up the stairs and could see the sky were the garage roof used to be, never heard it get ripped off. If it would've been the F5 it became when it hit our house don't think I'd be here today. I'm one of the lucky one.

I just can not believe that the metal was lodged in the pole like that. That is some power! A buddy said his friend tried to pull it out but can not get it out. It is stuck good in the pole. He only has tree parts in his yard! I am so sad for the families involved with the houses and lives lost. Very sad that mother nature can do this to us!

I can't imagine the cleanup involved, both mentally and physically. Glad your grandmother was ok.

I was really happy to see the church that I used to go to and my grandma still goes there to have a sign out front saying "FREE lunch to familys involved!" That is what we should all be doing is helping out our friends and family!
