well the season opened in my zone on sept 1st so out headed me and the wife chasing moose and whitetails. Had a great first two days saw lots of moose opening morning but the big one I got my eyes on has seemed to be hiding from me. I will get him sooner or later! Second morning my wife learned her first valuable bowhunting lesson. Always be ready cause sometimes they are right on top of you before you even hear them. She flung an arrow at a nice 8 point whitetail but sailed it over his back. She said she got super excited/nervous and rushed the shot. I told her don't worry about it clean miss and it happened to the best of us sometimes. Not to mention this is her first season hunting with the bow. So here we sit 3rd morning beautiful morning we had a big rain last night. Will keep you guys updated on this post about our season for any of you that are interested. Good luck on your season everyone! Stay safe and shoot straight.

Don't have much for scenery where I'm hunting my moose he is in some thick nasty stuff. I will post some pics when I'm home.
3rd evening and the wind is perfect it's cooler tonight so fingers crossed he wants to play. Am going to try some light grunt calls every 20 mins or so see if I can get him out of that thick alder patch. My second year hunting moose solo so it's definitely a learning curve.

Well I've been slacking on keeping the updates coming I've been hunting my butt off trying to get that moose and having no luck. Guess that's why he is that big haha. Took a week off of moose hunting to head northern Alberta on an elk hunt. Second season in to trying elk hunting out I connected on a small 4x4 bull. The morning was perfect and a good buddy of mine was calling we let out a bugle before first light and this guys responded. He came in on a string and gave me a perfect broadside shot at 49 yards. He went probably 50 yards and bedded down. The shot was a little back. We backed out and gave him some time and I had my first elk down with a bow.
