    Congratulations Rob.

I just got my email as well. I will be in the Gila unit 16E sep 19-24.

A couple of weeks ago, I also drew a deer tag colorado unit 76 for sep 1-24. Looks like I will be busy this September.

While I have already been working on it, more exercise and less eating for me.

    I am pumped!

    Mike,

Congrats to you, I hope all is well...I was hopeful that I would catch you somehow on the way thru. I haven't been on here very much, but glad to run into you again.

    Rob

Now if I can fill that tag, it will then be my first name.

PS...and we will have some elk burgs for the 3rd GTG :woot:
Amazing though that the number of applications were down about 30%. Not sure why other than the fact New Mexico started requesting tag fees upfront. Last year it cost $12 to apply. It is without a doubt a must-apply-for state.

In my opinion there is no question that the fact that you had to pay the entire cost of the tag upfront ($760 or thereabouts for a high demand or quality unit), coupled with a continued struggling economy and high unemployment limited the number of applicants.

Did it make a difference. Obviously from a mathematical standpoint it had to........I drew into what historically is a very tough unit (16E)to draw into. A buddy of mine and his son drew into another one just as tough (16A).

However, the other three groups that I know and have checked with all struck out. Go figure.

Well, maybe we can grab that lunch/dinner as we come thru. I know that we may have the time and sure we will be running the same highway.
