I have to ask.:busted: I HATE my current boot/sock setup...rubber boots suck without the right socks. So...

So what kind of socks do you guys prefer? Im tired of plain old white cotton...makes ya sweat then ya get cold. Im lookin for a mid temp to cold temp sock.

Anybody wear the US Army/Marine issued socks? they seem like they would fit the ticket perfectly.

I always recommend a good wool or a wool synthetic sock. I use smartwool socks they wick moisture and keep my feet plent warm. Although my feet still sweat if its warm or I do alot of walking. Thats just what rubber boots do I guess.

Danner's Pronghorn socks are pretty sweet.

I use wool or synthetic wool blends that wick moisture.

I always wear Cabela's Ultimax liners and then, depending on temp, put another pair of wool socks on top. Today I was wearing a light pair of Ultimax on top of the Ultimax liners.

wool, you feet may get wet, but they won't get cold. they're not bad in the warmer climates either.

I recommend the X-Scent socks next to your feet with a good blend of boot sox over them. The X-Scent liner socks wick moisture away and I swear my feet never stink wearing them.

+1, I wore them 3 nights in a row, working and on the 3rd night, one of the girls I worked with made fun of them when I was sitting back relaxing because she saw these "ugly army green socks." I told her what they were, and she said "No way," after a little coaxing, I conned her into putting her nose right within an inch of my toes and she couldn't smell a thing!!!! Her husband wears them for hunting now as well!!!

Note: I only wore them for those 3 nights to see how good they really are, I don't normally do that. And I wanted to trial everything before I went to Colorado for an elk hunt.
