I sure learned a lot this season from the woods, this site and a new hunting buddy that I just got from my local pro shop. I never did get a shot at anything but have a much better idea about my area and know where I will be moving a stand to. I was curious if any others never got a shot off either? Heck I only saw deer three times all year and I think I sat out in the woods on average 2-4 times a week. I did get a real late start to the season and didn't get to scout an area that holds a major funnel between a large swamp and a lake. When I checked it out yesterday I found two old scrapes and a highway of tracks, oh well. To those of you who can still hunt, good luck! Those who are done, hope you learned a lot as well!
Same here Josh. I got a late start and only saw 4 deer didn't get to scout my spot very much. I did get a shot off but hit underneath her. Still felt good to shoot though. Season ends the 16th
I saw one doe this year while hunting, but didnt have a good shot. So no luck this year, but Im not mad or dissappointed. It was my first year and got an extremely late start. But I learned alot and look forward to deer season starting back up in the fall.
Its been an amazing year here in NE for me. I learned alot and my addiction for bowhunting keeps growing. I took 2 monsters this year, 180 3/8ths and a 167 1/8ths. I spent most of the year preparing for the season, and it paid off. I have ten cuddebacks out, and what im learning from the pictures I take has helped me out a bunch. Im already preparing for next year, ive been out scouting, this is a good time to do it because everything is dead, and you can see where they have been traveling. Ive found some sheds from last year, and Ive found 4 dead bucks so far.
I only tagged 1 doe this year. Father-in-law and i already have a great game plan for next spring. Ready to get back at it.
