found these tracks in my yard today. not sure what made them as i have a 130+ lb alaskan malamute and these tracks are bigger than his. We dont have any dogs around us that could make a track that big.
    Can anyone identify them?
    thanks

It looks to me like it might be a cougar. What state are you in?

Here is a cougar print (top) vs a dog track (bottom).

    Mountain Lion (top image)

    1. Claw marks generally absent. If present, they will be sharp and narrow.
    2. Four tear-drop shaped toes, grouped asymmetrically.
    3. Trapezoidal-shaped heel pad.
    4. Three-lobed heel pad with two indentations along rear margin.
    Dog (bottom image)

    1. Toenail prints generally present will be broad and blunt.
    2. Four, round-shaped toes, grouped symmetrically.
    3. Triangular-shaped heel pad.
    4. Heel pad lacks distinct indentations and three-lobed appearance.

Im not sure what kind of tracks those are. If it were a dog you would most likely see claw marks. Cats claws are retractable BUT cats walk in the same track leaving many, close together tracks. Here's a pic of some lynx tracks to give you an idea of what cat tracks look like. I would imagine cougar would look the same but bigger.

yeah, no claw marks in these tracks. Went and looked at my dogs tracks and his claws were very evident in the tracks.
