Anyone know of an unguided bear hunt in MN? Im a mn resident but live near iowa. Just looking for a stand location and someone to bait for me. I talked to a guide up there that said he will set you up with an active stand for $500 but i cant seem to remember what guide it was and cant find him again online.

I would think many of the guides would be more than willing to place a stand and bait for you, save yourself some heart ache and make sure the guide is licensed. Google Minnesota Bear Guides Association.

Likely a little late, but everything also depends on what part of the state you're looking to hunt. The lottery is over as of about a week ago leaving you with only the no-quota areas. There are plenty of bear, and some BIG ONES at that in the no-quota, but it can be a tougher hunt depending on where you're looking too go. I'll be hunting public land no-quota this season myself, but it's only about 45 minutes from my house to my bait site, so that's not too bad. Where are you looking to go?
